The University of Notre Dame Folk Choir will present a concert of
Sacred Music on Monday, July 6 at 7:00 pm at St Anthony's
(2510 Richmond NW). From British Columbia to Florida, from
Edinburgh, Scotland to the shores of Ireland, and most recently,
up the entire eastern seaboard of Australia, this choir has traveled the
world and brought their repertoire to the multitudes of Christians along
the way. Come join us for a marvelous night of sacred song!

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CENTER: spaghetti & spaghetti sauce are needed as well as brown paper bags with handles.
Hours: Monday & Wednesday, 3 to 8 pm and Saturday 12 to 4 pm.
HABITAT for HUMANITY BUILD: Check your calendars. We will be signing up construction volunteers in two weeks from now. Signups will be after Masses on July 4/5 and on July 11/12. The work dates and times are 7/25 at 1-4pm, 7/30 at 5-8pm and 8/8 at 8amnoon. We also need some volunteers to bring and share in a meal with us at noon; you can sign up for this too on the two sign up
days.

Grape Chicken Salad
2 c. grapes
2 c. chopped chicken
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/3 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. Kraft creamy cucumber dressing
1/4 tsp. ginger powder
Combine grapes, chicken, nuts, and celery. Add
combined dressing and ginger. Mix lightly. Chill.
Serve over lettuce. Garnish with fruits. Use 2 different color grapes.

Men’s Summer Retreat
The Men’s Summer Retreat, held at St. Lazare
Retreat House for over a decade, will be resuming
Wednesday, July 15 starting at 9:00 a.m. until 5:00
p.m. at the Franciscan Life Processing Center north
of Lowell. The Center offers a beautiful setting for
hearing the Word of God, silence,
reflection and meditation.
Msgr. Gaspar (Gus) Ancona will be the principal presenter, with conferences, Sacraments, Mass and quiet
time for meditation and prayer. It is an excellent time
to recharge your spiritual battery. For those who need
transportation it will be available from the Immaculate
Heart of Mary parking lot, Burton and Plymouth S.E.,
in Grand Rapids. Boarding 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The
registration fee is $45 which includes lunch.

heart to see that Christ is everywhere and to be present to
those who are imprisoned.

Eat at the same time every day!
Often times when you push yourself to go too long in
between meals you start to feel the negative symptoms
of low blood sugar. When your blood sugar begins to decline from lack
of food, you start to feel a range of volatile emotions including sadness,
anger, apathy and extreme fatigue. When coping with the challenges of
a mental health issue, such extreme swings in blood sugar can often
make existing symptoms feel even worse. Staying consistent with your
meal times and making sure you do not push past extreme hunger will

Muchas veces cuando deja pasar mucho tiempo entre
las comidas se empiezan a sentir los síntomas negativos que produce
el tener el azúcar baja en la sangre. Cuando el azúcar en su sangre
empieza a declinar por falta de comida, empieza a sentir muchas emociones incluyendo a la tristeza, el enojo, la apatía y la fatiga extrema.
Cuando se lucha con los retos de un problema mental, estos cambios
extremos en el azúcar de la sangre pueden muchas veces hacer que
los síntomas que existen se sientan peor. El ser consistente con el
horario de comidas y asegurándose que no tenga un hambre extrema
preverá que su azúcar de la sangre baje demasiado.
