FIAB (Spanish Federation of Food & Beverage Industries) is an umbrella organization of most food &
beverage associations and manufacturing companies in Spain. Its basic function consists of informing its
members about events and developments which are relevant to the sector. As a result, FIAB represents
the interests of its members in discussions with administrative and decision-making bodies on national,
European and international level. Accordingly, its activities are focused on the following areas: economy,
fiscal policy, research & development, labour affairs, food legislation, promotion of foreign trade, training,
environment and communication.
In particular, the promotion of foreign trade is achieved through supporting Spanish companies and their
products in events like trade fairs, show rooms, business meetings, etc. in order to build up and enhance
the Spanish image abroad.
The high quality and unique taste of Spanish products have fostered its exports to more than 80
countries, leading in 2006, to an export value of ¤22 billion and maintaining its positive trade balance
worldwide.

• To establish, within the framework of the general economic planning , the guidelines for regulation
and development of the agricultural and food industries.

and markets, and to food policy.

The 110 hectares of land where Vega Carabaña Extra Virgin Olive
Oil is produced, are situated in Carabaña, a town of Madrid in the
Tajuña Valley. The fertile plains and hillsides of Carabaña are
characterized by having a fantastic microclimate and a privileged
exposure to sun, that combined with lands of fluvial origin allows
an optimal ripeness and a high quality olive production.This elements
have repercusions on the final oil taste, enhancing the great variety
and quality of the olives that can be founded in Vega Carabaña Oil.
The 11.000 Vega Carabaña's olive trees, have the best qualities for
the production of an exquisite Extra Virgin Olive Oil, because:
- The olive trees are centenary, this contributes with a ripeness and
superior sensory properties.
- Each olive tree has an available area of 100 m2 for each one, which
provides them a great deal of nutrients, more fruit ventilation and
a longer sun exposure.
- There are four kind of olives gathereded and ground up:
Cornicabra, which produces a fruity and full bodied flavoured oil,
with average values in bitter and spicy, that it's present in a higher
proportion in our oil; Manzanilla, Carrasqueña and Gordal.
