Child Care Ministry—Volunteers Needed
Ministerio para el Cuidado de Niños —
We are looking to find volunteers for child care during
adult faith opportunities on Sundays. We need support from
10AM to 12:30PM on Sundays during October and as
needed as special speaker series start. Great service hour
opportunity for Brophy and Xavier students.
Necesitamos Voluntarios Estamos buscando voluntarios para el cuidado de
niños para los programas de formación de fe para adultos que se ofrecerán
durante los domingos. Necesitamos ayuda de 10:00am a 12:30pm los
domingos del mes de octubre y cuando sea necesario al empezar las series

Parish Bereavement Ministry
“This ministry is all about “being there” for other
people. It’s about helping them feel they are not
alone in their grieving, letting them know they are
‘not crazy’, and offering tools if they get stuck.
This ministry is about support, encouragement,
and empowerment. It says to those we minister to,
‘You are not alone’.” Dr. Gail Torres, Chaplain at
Maricopa County Medical Center will offer
training for this program. If you are interested,

CONTEMPLATIVE STUDIES
THE FULFILLMENT OF ALL DESIRE
by Ralph Martin is our next book in
contemplative studies on the three
classical stages of the spiritual life. Ralph
Martin draws from the wisdom of six
Doctors of the Church: Catherine of
Siena, Teresa of Avila, Therese of
Lisieux, Bernard of Clairveaux, John of
the Cross and Francis de Sales, Ralph
Martin has surprisingly created a book
with wonderful depth yet easy to read.
Everyone is welcome; both regular
participants and occasional guests. The book can be ordered
on line or through the bookstore.
Classes will begin the week of Sept. 12; Monday mornings
from 9:00AM to 11:00AM or Tuesday evenings from 6:30PM
to 8:30PM in the Ignatian Spirituality Center on 1st St. and
Pierson. Ron Peterson, a Secular Discalced Carmelite, will
facilitate the Class. Requests for any further information can

Adult Faith
Formation Programs
Necesitamos Voluntarios para
los Programas de Formación
de Fe para Adultos.
Both English and Spanish speaking volunteers are
needed to host, lead, and help coordinate the many
programs the Adult Faith Forma'on office will be
offering this year.
Se necesitan voluntarios que hablen inglés o español
para que sirvan de anfitriones, dirijan y ayuden a
coordinar los varios programas de Formación de Fe
para Adultos que nuestra oficina estará ofreciendo
este año.
Algunas formas en las cuales usted puede ser
voluntario:
Ser anfitrión/anfitriona de una de nuestras series
de oradores invitados (Java con los Jesuitas/El
Rincón del libro Jesuita/Estudios de las
Escrituras). En este puesto, usted saludará y

Some ways you can volunteer :

Be a host/hostess for one of our speakers series
(Java with the Jesuits/The Jesuit Book Corner/
Scripture Studies). In this posi'on, you will greet
and welcome par'cipants to the program, introduce the guest speaker, and distribute and collect
program evalua'ons.
•
Lead one of our prayer groups (materials provided).
•
Work with Valley Interfaith on programs geared
towards parents of students in our Catechesis of
the Good Shepard par'cipants.
•
Work on the planning team for the Advent and
Lenten retreats; help coordinate the events.
•
Assist with organizing and overseeing Ministry
Sunday in the fall, 2016.
•
Be trained to assist with the Grief Counseling
Ministry
