General Recommendations for Use, Maintenance and Storage

Hose has a limited life and the user must be alert to signs of impending
failure particularly when the conditions of service include high working
pressures and/or the conveyance of hazardous materials. The periodic
inspection constitutes a minimum level of user action to detect signs
indicating hose deterioration or loss of performance before conditions
leading to malfunction or failure are reached.
Failure to properly follow the recommendations procedures for the care,
maintenance and storage of the hose might result in its failure.
General Care and Maintenance of Hose
Hose should not be subjected to any form of abuse in service. It should
be handled with reasonable care. Hose should not be dragged over sharp
or abrasive surfaces.
Hose should be used at or below its rated working pressure; any changes
in pressure should be made gradually so as to not subject the hose to
excessive surge pressures.
Hose should not be kinked and the maximum bending radius must be
observed.
General Test and Inspection Procedures for Hose
An inspection and hydrostatic test should be made at periodic intervals
to determine if a hose is suitable for continued service.
A visual inspection of the hose should be made for loose covers, kinks,
bulges or soft spots, which might indicate broken or displaced reinforcement.
The couplings or fittings should be closely examined and, if there is any
sign of movement of the hose from the couplings, the hose should be
removed from service.
The periodic inspection should include a hydrostatic test for five minutes
at the recommended working pressure of the hose. During the hydrostatic
test, the hose should be straight, not coiled or in a kinked position. Water
is the usual test medium.
Storage
Proper storage conditions can enhance and extend substantially the ultimate
life of hose products.
Temperature, humidity, ozone, sunlight, oils, solvents, corrosive liquids
and fumes, insects, rodents and radioactive materials can affect rubber
hose products in storage adversely.
Storage areas should be relatively cool and dark, and free of dampness
and mildew. Items should be stored on a first-in, first-out basis, since even

under the best of conditions, an unusually long shelf life could deteriorate

certain rubber products.
The ideal temperature for the storage of rubber products ranges from 10
to 21ºC (50º-70ºF) with a maximum limit of 38ºC (100ºF). If stored below
0ºC (32ºF), some rubber products become stiff and would require warming
before being placed in service. Rubber products should not be stored near
sources of heat, such as radiators, base heaters, etc., nor should they be
stored under conditions of high or low humidity.
To avoid the adverse effects of high ozone concentration, rubber hose
products should not be stored near electrical equipment that may generate
ozone or be stored for any lengthy period in geographical areas of known
high ozone concentration.
Hose should not be stored in locations where the ozone level exceeds
0,10 ppm. Exposure to direct or reflected sunlight –even through windowsshould also be avoided. Uncovered hose should not be stored under
fluorescent or mercury lamps, which generate light waves harmful to
rubber.
The appropriate method for storing hose depends to a great extent on its
size (diameter and length), the quantity to be stored, and the way in which
it is packaged. Hose should not be piled or stacked to such an extent that
the weight of the stack creates distortions on the lengths stored at the
bottom.
Since hose products vary considerably in size, weight and length, it is not
practical to establish definite recommendations on this point. Hose having
a very light wall will not support as much load as could a hose having a
heavier wall or hose having a wire reinforcement. Hose that is shipped in
coils or bales should be stored so that the coils are in a horizontal plane.
Whenever feasible, rubber hose products should be stored in their original
shipping containers, especially when such containers are wooden crates
or cardboard cartons which provide some protection against the deteriorating
effects of oils, solvents, and corrosive liquids; shipping containers also
afford some protection against ozone and sunlight.
Certain rodents and insects will damage rubber hose products, and adequate
protection from them should be provided.

of the merchandise or products shall first determine their suitability for the
intended purposes, uses or applications and they shall either conduct their own
engineering studies or tests before determining the suitability or propriety of
the merchandise or products for the intended purposes, uses and applications.
Our products may fail due to the use or conveyance of substances at elevated
or lowered temperatures or at excessive pressures, the conveyance of abrasive
injurious, flammable, explosive or damaging substances. Hose or tubing used
in bent configuration will be subjected to increased abrasion. Hose clamps or
couplings may loosen after initial installation and all sections of hose and tubing
should be inspected frequently regularly, and should be replaced adjusted or
retightened for the avoidance of leakage for the preventions of injures or
carriages, and for general safety purposes.
Except as indicates in its limited Warranty, KLEIN S.A. shall not be liable or
responsible for direct or indirect injures or carriages caused by or attributed to
the failure or malfunction or any merchandise or products sold by it.
KLEIN S.A. recommends that the purchasers or users of the merchandise or
products frequently and consistently undertake inspections and protective
measures with respect to the use and application of the merchandise and
products which should include the examination of tube and cover conditions
of the hose or tubing and the identification, repair or replacement of sections
showing cracking, blistering separations internal and external abrasions leaking
or slipped couplings or connections and make proof tests.
Limited warranty
The merchandise or products sold or distributed by KLEIN S.A. are warranted
to our customers to be free from defects in material and workmanship at the
time of shipment by us. All warranty claims shall be made within six (6) months
after we have shipped the merchandise. Our liability hereunder is limited to
the purchase price of any merchandise proving defective or at our optimal to
the replacement of such merchandise upon its authorized return to us.

APLICACIÓN Y PROPIEDADES
Tubo fabricado en continuo muy ligero y flexible, de acuerdo con
las normas internacionales más exigentes.
Especialmente concebido para tareas de soldadura, oxicorte y
técnicas afines en la industria, astilleros y construcción.
Se fabrica con la superficie exterior en color azul para el oxígeno
y rojo para el acetileno; puede suministrarse bajo pedido en otros
colores.
Fabricamos esta manguera bajo especificaciones propias y también
bajo norma EN 559.
COMPOSICIÓN
Tubo interior:
Caucho sintético negro liso.
Refuerzo:
Hilo sintético de alta tenacidad.
Cubierta exterior:
Caucho sintético resistente a la abrasión. Superficie lisa o estriada,
de color azul o rojo.
APPLICATION AND PROPERTIES
Long length moulded premium quality welding hose for oxy-acetylene
welding and flame cutting services in general industry workshops,
shipyards, and constructions sites.
Manufactured with blue exterior surface for oxygen and red for
acetylene; it can be delivered in other colours by request.
We manufacture this hose following our own specifications and
also in version according EN 559.
CONSTRUCTION
Tube:
Black synthetic low diffusion rubber.
Reinforcement:
High tensile strength synthetic textile yarn.
Cover:
Synthetic abrasion and weather resistant, fluted or smooth rubber.
Blue for oxygen, red for acetylene.
Temperature range:
From -25º to 100º C.

Spécialement conçu pour des applications en soudure, oxycoupage
et autres techniques analogues.

COMPOSITION
Tube intérieur:
Caoutchouc synthétique noir lisse avec grades caractéristiques
mécaniques.
Renfort:
Spirales en fil synthétique de haute ténacité.
Revêtement extérieur:
Caoutchouc synthétique résistant à l’abrasion. Avec surface lisse
ou striée, et couleur d’après l’usage auquel il est destiné.
ANWENDUNG UND EIGENSCHAFTEN
In kontinuierlichem Verfahren nach den strengsten internationalen
Normen gefertigter Schlauch, sehr leicht und handlich. Eigens
entwickelt für Schweißarbeiten, Schiffsbau und Schneidbrennen
und verwandte Verfahren im Einsatz in der Industrie, bei Bauarbeiten
und im Schiffsbau.
Wird hergestellt mit der äußeren Oberfläche in blau für den Sauerstoff
und in rot für Acetylen. Die Farben können nach Wunsch
auftragsgebunden gewählt werden. Wir fertigen diesen Schlauch
sowohl nach eigenen Richtlinien als auch nach Norm EN559.

Synthetischer schwarzer glatter Gummi.
Verstärkung:
Synthetisches Garn mit hoher Festigkeit.
Außendecke:
Synthetischer abriebfester Gummi. Glatte oder längsgeriefte

de temperatura elevada y posibles contactos con materiales
incandescentes. Susceptible de ser fabricado con diferentes fibras
como recubrimiento (cerámica, vidrio, nomex, etc...) y con cauchos
no conductores de resistencia eléctrica > 1010Ohm/m.
Soporta una temperatura de radiación temporal de 400º C.
COMPOSICIÓN
