I N EXERCISE of the powers vested i n h i m by Article 3 of the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order i n Council, 1939, and the Emergency Powers (Defence) A c t , 1939, the H i g h Commissioner has made the following Defence Regulations :— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Defence (Prevention of Profiteering) (Amendment) Regulations, 1942, and shall be read as one w i t h the Defence (Prevention of Profiteering) Regulations, 1942, hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations. 2. The following regulation shall be inserted i n the principal Regulations immediately after regulation 9 thereof : — "Power to confiscate and forfeit. 9A.—(1) A B r i t i s h Magistrate or Municipal T r i bunal before whom a person is convicted of an offence under these Regulations may order that the commodity, i n respect of which any such offence has been committed, shall be confiscated and where confiscation is so ordered such commodity shall be disposed of by delivering it to a Controlling Authority, or a person designated by such Authority, for disposal i n such manner as such Controlling Authority may deem fit. (2) A B r i t i s h Magistrate or Municipal Tribunal before whom a person is convicted of the offence of contravention of regulation 7 of these Regulations may further order the forfeiture to the Government of Palestine of any amount found by the — 1197 — Citation. This Order may be cited as the Galilee District (Precautions against Hostile Attack) Order, 1942, and it shall apply to the T o w n P l a n n i n g Areas of Acre, Nazareth, Safad, Tiberias, 'Afula and Nahariya. 2. I n this Order — " D i r e c t o r " means a Director or Deputy Director of Passive Defence appointed under the Defence (Passive Defence Services) Regulations, 1941; "the T o w n P l a n n i n g A r e a " means any of the T o w n P l a n n i n g Areas to which this Order applies. 3. A Director may by notice require any person (hereinafter referred to as "the person") having the control or management of any premi:es situated i n the T o w n P l a n n i n g Area upon which there may at any time be fifteen or more persons, to prepare and submit to the Director, within such period as may be specified i n the notice, a scheme for the protection of such persons against hostile attack for approval by the Director. 4. The Director may approve any such scheme or may approve it subject to such alterations therein as he may deem fit. 5. Where the Director approves of any such scheme, whether with or without alterations, he may by notice require the person to carry out the scheme within such period and i n such manner as may be specified i n the notice. 6.
