IHM Updates
Lenten Longings: This past week, Lenten Longings groups
met on Tuesday and Wednesday to share faith stories and
journey together, deepening our Lenten prayer and relationship with our Lord. The theme “Becoming the Message”
highlights that we are all called to live and bring the spirit
of the Lord to others as further noted by this quote... All of
us have God in us, and that Spirit of God unites all life
(Wangari Maathai, Nobel Peace Prize, 2004).
Lecture: On Thursday morning, a lecture was given by
Marie Bannister on St Teresa of Avila, Carmelite Spanish
Mystic, Doctor of the Church. A true inspiration to all.
Any ideas for programs? Want to volunteer? Please call or

www.cqrcengage.com/catholicbishops/home.
The USCCB actively monitors all federal legislation relating
to elementary & secondary education. As the Church’s representative for Catholic elementary & secondary schools in
the United States, the USCCB supports policies that recognize the right of parents to be the primary educators of their
children. They also advocate for legislation that assists parents in defraying the costs of choosing the type of schooling
most appropriate for their children, including education in
Catholic schools. The USCCB works to ensure that all students, regardless of where they attend school, share federal
benefits & services equitably. NEXT WEEK: Justice,
Peace & Human Development. If you have any questions
you can always contact our Parish Social Ministry Office at
516-883-0365 or you can visit the USCCB’s website at
