Our parish community is on its 15th year of its 2-WEEK OF
FEEDING AND SHELTERING approximately 160-180 homeless people each night from FEBRUARY 4-17, 2013. They
come from different areas in the East San Gabriel Valley. As
baptized Catholics Jesus has called us to feed and clothe the
poor (Mt 25:35-40). Different groups and ministries of St. Martha's Parish and neighboring churches are sponsoring one evening to feed them with dinner and provide them with sack
lunches on their way out each morning. Your help and support
are very much needed. Please support us by bringing any of the
following items/donations:
FOOD GROUP Rice/ Pasta/ Noodles, Coffee (Regular & Decaf in cans for
brewing) Tea bags (regular and decaf), Sugar and creamer (in
canisters), Boxes of Cereal (small), Fruits/Small Juices/Water/
Dinner Rolls/Muffins.
WINTER CLOTHES/FOOTWEAR
Jackets (Medium to Large sizes for men/women), Sweat Pants
& sweater (Large sizes), Socks (medium to large), Under wears
(Men/women medium to large), Gloves & bonnets, Shoes (Men
& Women).
TOILETRIES - All disposable
Toothbrush & toothpaste (trial sizes only), Razor & shaving

OLD PALMS BURNING RITUAL
All parishioners are asked to bring your old palms that we
used during last year’s Palm Sunday celebration and please
deposit them on the barrel located at the vestibule, as this
will be used for Palm Burning Ritual on Feb. 3 after the 5pm
Life Teen Mass. The ashes from these palms will be used for
Ash Wednesday. Everyone is invited to witness the Palm
Burning Ritual and Prayer.

February 13 , 2013 our Lenten Journey begins. Please be
aware that in the evening of Ash Wednesday there will be a
different system in place to enter and exit our parking lot.
Due to the great number of cars coming in and going out of
our lot, we will make some adaptations to facilitate the traffic flow.
• The change will be from 4:30 pm onward.
• The Azusa ENTRANCE/EXIT between the
church and rectory will be CLOSED.
• The only way to ENTER will be from the Temple
gateway.
• The only way to EXIT will be from the Azusa gateway
on side of rectory.

de Cuaresma empieza. Por favor estén al tanto de que el
