PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
St. Kevin is a multi-cultural church committed to being an example of
gospel values in our community, as shown to us by Jesus Christ, through
our outreach to children, youth, young adults, seniors, the sick, the grieving
and the poor. We do this with prayer, friendship, charity, and social justice
through the programs we offer with a welcoming spirit and by showing
respect and dignity to all.

THANKS!!
With God’s help, the hard work of the Dinner
Dance Committee, and the response of many of
you, our Dinner Dance was once again a great success. As you already know this event not only is
one of our most important fundraisings, but also an
opportunity to gather with family, friends, and parishioners to socialize and have a good time. As in the past, everything was sheer
joy. We all had a wonderful time.
I am deeply grateful to every single person who in one way or another contributed to the realization of this event. Thank you for
having bought tickets to the dinner dance and /or having placed an
ad in our Ad Book. But, above all, thank you for showing your
love for Saint Kevin, your church.
I thank Franny Gutierrez and Martha Cervantes for having accepted
to be recognized that night and for the many years of ministry and
service to our parish. And, in a very special way, my deepest gratitude to the committee and Mrs. Rosario Orozco, for without all
their help and input the success of the event would not be what it
has been.

Con la ayuda de Dios, el arduo trabajo del Comité de Cena y Baile y con la ayuda y respuesta de muchos de ustedes, pudimos tener una
vez mas un evento exitoso. Este evento no
solo representa una de las mayores recaudaciones de fondos de nuestra parroquia, sino una
oportunidad para socializar y pasar un tiempo agradable en compañía de familiares y amigos. Como todos los años ,este también se
caracterizo por ser un evento de mucha paz, alegría y convivencia.
Mi mas profundo agradecimiento a todas las personas que interna y
externamente hicieron posible este evento. Gracias por habernos
favorecido con la compra de boletos y espacios en nuestro libro de
publicaciones; gracias por sus donativos, su trabajo, su presencia y
por demonstrar su amor por San Kevin, su iglesia.
Agradezco de manera especial a Martha Cervantes y Franny Gutiérrez por haber aceptado ser galardonados esa noche y por todos sus
anos de ministerio y servicio a nuestra iglesia. Y, de modo muy
especial, gracias al comité y a la señora Rosario Orozco, pues sin su
ayuda, el éxito del evento no podría ser tal.

I just want to make you aware that recently Saint Kevin’s church
received a $5,000.00 donation from the Charismatic Group. These
funds are the product of their hard work through the sale of Sunday’s Breakfast. I thank each of it's members for their hard work,
time, and effort. Also, I thank each of you who always step down to
enjoy the delicious food and to contribute to the cause.

recientemente la parroquia de San Kevin recibió del Grupo Carismático un donativo de $5,000.00. Este dinero es producto del gran esfuerzo que llevan a cabo por medio de la venta de desayunos para

Early Headstart (EHS) is a federally-funded, community-based program for low-income families with infants, toddlers, or pregnant
women. Its mission is simple: to enhance the development of very
young children, promote healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant
women, and promote healthy family functioning. They offer a variety of services like medical, dental, and mental health; nutrition, and
parent education. These programs serve pregnant women and children from birth to age 3. This workshop is free and located at the
South Chicago Community Service Center at 8650 S. Commercial
Ave.

MASS FOR EXPECTANT MOTHERS
Very Rev. Ronald A. Hicks, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of
Chicago, will celebrate Mother’s Day, May 8th, with a special Mass
for Expectant Mothers at Holy Name Cathedral, State and Superior
Streets in Chicago, beginning at 12:30 p.m. At the Mass, Fr. Hicks
will give a special blessing to all mothers. A silk rose, as well as a
prayer card and medal of St. Gerard, the patron saint of expectant
mothers, will be given to all those awaiting the birth of a child.
