Bodegas Verdúguez is a family cellar devoted to the
winemaking of production, ageing and bottling of FINE
WINES and also SPARKLING WINES, ORGANIC WINES
and NON ALCOHOLIC.
Our Wine cellar was set up the same year it was built in
1950. The company has been known from the beginning
for its dynamic and innovative strategies as well as its early
international orientation, which has impelled the company
along a remarkably successful export path. Using the natural
production methods our goal has been produce wines that offer
pleasant sensations to those who drink and taste them. We
therefore take great care of the process and strictly control to
the whole winemaking process.
Passion, Enthusiasm & Love for our wines and work that
makes our wines unique and famous all around the world.
Annual capacity: About 3.500.000 L.
Storage capacity: About 1.500.000 L.
Annual production: 3.100.000 bottles/ about 4.220.000 kg of
grapes per year.
Vineyard: 150 hectares, the rest of the property represents
controlled vineyard
Total area of the wine cellar: 8.000 m² with modern
equipments for production, clarification, filtration and
micro-filtration, pasteurization, cold stabilization and bottling
in different size.
There is no country in Europe like Spain, with such an appropriate amount of predisposing factors
for wine growing. Our soil, climate, experience and an incomparable human component, gives our
wines the richness they need to be one of the best wines and most recognized all over the world.
La Mancha, with many acres of vineyards that fill up the fields, is the largest wine region in the
world. Our Region, which is located in the heart of Spain, in Toledo, is a long tradition region of
winemakers and long extensions of vineyards. The special soil we benefit from is chalky and not
very deep, which makes the strain to root very deep.
Our climate, Mediterranean climate is characterized by big differences from warm to hot, dry
summers and mild to cool, wet winters. The difference between average temperatures in winter
and summer is about 18.5°C in most locations, such as in Toledo. In summer, daily temperatures
can exceed 35°C, while snow and frost are a regular occurrence in winter. Precipitation patterns
are typical of Mediterranean climates (generally 400–600 mm) except with peaks in autumn and
spring and a drier stretch in mid-winter.
Fortunately we are located in the Central Meseta, which gives an altitude of 722 meters over sea
level, and makes our weather harder than coast cities but to the contrary gives our production the
robustness necessary to get upper quality wines.
The EXPERIENCE of our hands, the “savoir faire” that we have is unique in the world. We are
a region which has a tradition of more than 100 years. La Mancha was the wine cellar of the
Spanish Court from the XVI century to the middle of the XIX century. The ancient knowledge of
this special harvesting and the experienced smell to care the vines makes our wines outstanding.

The Regulatory Board: This Corporation of public law has as fundamental mission the defense and
promotion of the viticulture from its area of production thanks to the guarantee, the quality and the
control of its wines. Creation of the D.O. La Mancha in 1973.
This control committee has succeeded in reinforcing the quality of the wines of La Mancha region
providing more profitability and credibility in its relationship with the consumers.
The D.O. label informs us about the origin of the wine (specific zone of production), the authorized
grape-vine varieties for this D.O., the guarantee of the quality by means of various controls
(chemical analysis), the regulation concerning the production of the wine, the approved cultivation
and wine expertise practices.
The wine tasting committee: Quality Council, neuralgic centre of the D.O. La Mancha which
tastes wines candidates for the D.O. La Mancha, thanks to surprises controls realized by the
experts of the Council in the wine cellars, ensuring extraordinary both quality and credibility of
these prestigious wines on the foreign markets.
Besides, the advantage of our region consists of its great modernization during the last 10 years.
In fact, lots of wine cellars count on the support of the highest technological innovation, above all
with regard the `re-equipment’ of their installations with great advanced technologies.
Consequently, the wine production is the most dynamic activity of the industrial network of La
Mancha region.
It will become, without any doubt, the region leader in Spain for the volume of bottled wine sold
and exports realized the production of premium wines, the improvement of the quality of its wines.
Thanks to its quality price ratio, it has competitive and attractive products (best price offer) due
to the numerous existent vineyards, offering a more economical price of the grape than in the rest
of Spain.

FOR THE HARD WORK AND TALENT
“Palacios Reales 99 – Chardonnay”: One of the 12 best white wines from the
D.O. La Mancha selected by the Council Regulation in 2000 among 543 samples
tasted (the only Chardonnay from the D.O. La Mancha for white wines).
5th “EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival” (Oct. 21 – Nov. 19) in 2000,
Orlando (USA), the most important international festival of delicatessen in the
USA: The wine tasting committee only select 2 wines by country and for Spain
one of the selected wines was: “Palacios Reales Red Crianza 1997 Tempranillo”;
another wine was also selected “Palacios Reales organic white and red”.

The Finnish state monopoly ALKO has selected in 2001 two wines from the wine
cellar Bodegas Verdúguez from the D.O. La Mancha to be part of the Finland’s
officialwine catalogue: “Palacios Reales Macabeo” and “Palacios Reales
Cabernet Sauvignon”, both 2000 vintage.“Palacios RealesMacabeo” is the 1st
white wine from the D.O. La Mancha selected by ALKO.
The annual tasting committee of Radio Turismo offered the Gold Medal 2001 to
“Palacios Reales varietal Syrah 2000”.
“Palacios Reales White varietal” is part of the wines which are the most sold
in Castilla La Mancha (Specializedwinepressreview “Alimentos de Castilla La
