Dear parish family,
The Lord be with you!
We have finally made it to the last Sunday in this liturgical year. Next week we will
be able to say to each other "Happy new year" as we begin the great season of Advent and a new liturgical year.
All around us we will be seeing sights and sounds of Christmas: Christmas songs,
Christmas lights, Christmas trees, Christmas par es and Christmas TV specials, but
it's not yet Christmas! You and I are encouraged to PREPARE during ADVENT for the
coming of Jesus in: HISTORY, MYSTERY , and MAJESTY.
Our culture has it ALL backwards!!!! Star ng the day a er Thanksgiving on Black Friday, it will seem to many, that Christmas has begun! Do your best see the
period BEFORE December 25 as ADVENT, a me of PREPARATION. Then on
Christmas Day the REAL CELEBRATION
begins.

Holy Communion last Sunday at the
6pm Liturgy! Thank you for your yes to
Jesus and His Church.
Congratula ons go out to Mario Reyna for being this year’s recipient of the Diocesan St. Jude Award. He will be receiving this award from Bishop Lynch, this a ernoon at the Cathedral.

de Gracias con el “Black Friday” mucha gente cree que Navidad ha comenzado.

POR QUE DEBE MATRICULARSE
COMO MIEMBRO DE LA PARROQUIA Y
USAR SOBRES DEL OFERTORIO
En muchos países la noamericanos,
casi todos son Católicos. Cuando llega
el momento de Bau zar, usted solo va
a la Iglesia de la parroquial local y el
sacerdote realiza el sacramento. Al vivir cerca automá camente pertenece a
la parroquia.
Las cosas son diferentes en los Estados
Unidos. La mayoría de las personas aquí son protestantes. Usted no pertenece automá camente a una parroquia Católica cercana. Para pertenecer realmente a la
parroquia, usted debe registrarse. Esto significa llenar
un formulario de una pagina con su información familiar. Esta información es confidencial— no se la damos
a nadie mas, ni al gobierno.
Una vez usted sea miembro registrado recibirá unos
sobres para que pueda dar seguimiento a su asistencia
a Misa. ¿Porque es esto importante? Si usted desea
bau zar a un niño, servir como padrino o madrina,
casarse, la Iglesia requiere que muestre que es un Católico prac cante (esto es requerido para todas las
Iglesias). También, si llega a necesitar una carta para
emigración, la Iglesia solo le podrá dar una carta si es
miembro registrado. Al echar su sobre en la canasta de
la ofrenda sabemos que esta par cipando ac vamente
