The Opera Rollfed is an automatic rotary labelling machine for the
application of MDO (Machine Direction Oriented) rollfed complete
wraparound labels on either cylindrical or shaped containers made of
glass, plastic or metal.

The roll-fed labelling station is equipped with two
independent reel stands, complete with film tension
control device. During its unwinding, the film is controlled
by a continuous, automatic correcting system of its
vertical position [web tracker].
The film feeding roller is controlled by a servo-motor
which adjusts the film feeding speed in accordance
with the labels pitch (spot or other reference). The label
is cut onto a drum provided with rotating blade which
interferes with a static blade. The fine adjustment of the
alignment of the two blades, necessary for a correct
cutting and a long life of the blades, is simple and
reliable. The transfer of the label from the cutting drum
to the container is carried out by means of an aluminium
vacuum drum. There is no slipping between the cut
label and the vacuum drum: the machine functioning
does not depend on the variation of the parameters
related to the label material and to the upper finishing
of the vacuum drum. The label process is therefore less
critical. The Hot Melt glue is spread on one edge of the
label and on the overlap by means of a glue roller made
of stainless steel, provided with a high precision and
finely knurled cylindrical surface permitting a minimum
consumption of glue.
The labelling station position may be adjusted either
vertically or horizontally, in order to allow the handling
of containers of different diameters and the application
of labels at different heights.

dos soportes de bobina independientes y un dispositivo
de control de la película. Al desenrollarse, la película se
controla mediante sistema corrector automático y continuo
de posición vertical [web tracker, dispositivo guía].
El rodillo de alimentación de película está controlado por
un servomotor que ajusta la velocidad de alimentación de
acuerdo con el paso de las etiquetas (punto u otra referencia). La etiqueta se corta en un tambor provisto de una
cuchilla giratoria que interfiere con una cuchilla estática. El
ajuste fino de la alineación de las dos cuchillas, necesario
para un corte correcto y una duración prolongada de
las mismas, es sencillo y fiable. La transferencia de la
etiqueta desde el tambor de corte al recipiente se realiza
mediante un tambor de vacío de aluminio. No se producen
deslizamientos entre la etiqueta cortada y el tambor de
vacío: el funcionamiento de la máquina no depende de
la variación de los parámetros relativos al material de la
etiqueta y al acabado superior del tambor de vacío. Por
lo tanto, el proceso de la etiqueta es menos crítico. La
cola Hot Melt (fusión caliente) se aplica en un borde de
la etiqueta y en el solapamiento mediante un rodillo de
cola de acero inoxidable, que cuenta con una superficie
cilíndrica de alta precisión y finamente moleteada para
conseguir un consumo mínimo de cola.
La posición de la estación de etiquetado se puede
ajustar vertical u horizontalmente para la manipulación
de recipientes de distintos diámetros y la aplicación de
etiquetas a distintas alturas.

The Opera Hot Melt is an automatic rotary labelling machine for the
application of pre-cut (cut & stack) complete
wraparound labels on either cylindrical or shaped containers made of
glass, plastic or metal.

The Opera HOT MELT is a rotary hot melt labelling
machine to apply, with the maximum reliability and
precision, wraparound pre-cut paper labels (or plastic
labels) on either cylindrical or shaped containers made
of glass, plastic or metal.
The container presence photocell positioned near the inlet
wheel generates a signal used for starting the labeling
process when a container is present.
The NORDSON spraying device applies hot melt vertical
glue dots (or stripes) to the container.
The container picks up the label from the label magazine;
then the spreader applies the hot melt glue to the final
vertical end of the label, thus ensuring proper application.
A smoothing device completes the process.

Flexibility
Minimal format changeover times and is very efficient

The Formsleeve+ is an automatic modular rotary labelling machine
which creates and applies “full body” or “partial body” tubular
sleeves directly from MDO (Machine Direction Oriented) high shrink
rollfed label film onto cylindrical or shaped containers made of glass,
plastic or metal.

The FORMSLEEVE+ is a modular labelling machine that
allows the application of a tubular sleeve directly created
in the machine from MDO roll fed labels film stock. The
sleeve is created on a series of motorized mandrels
through the use of vacuum technology. Thanks to the
unique application of liquid bonding solution, the high
shrinking label film can be sealed correctly and strongly,
hence creating the sleeve.
The created sleeve is then lowered and applied to the
container. A heat tunnel positioned at the labeller outfeed
completes the shrinking process. The creation of the
sleeve is integrated into the labelling process therefore
resulting in significant cost savings in printed film material
against the traditional sleeve converting process.
The FORMSLEEVE+ is suitable to work cylindrical or
shaped plastic, can or glass containers applying
POLYOLEFIN/PET/PVC/PLA/OPS or other wraparound
plastic labels of different thicknesses from the reel, with
label liquid bonding solution. Production speeds up to
51.000 CPH.
Tubular sleeve labels can be applied as Tamper Evident,
Half Body, Body, or Full Body.

FORMSLEEVE+ es una máquina etiquetadora modular
que permite la aplicación de una funda tubular creada
directamente en la máquina a partir de película de
etiquetas de bobina MDO. La funda se crea en una
serie de mandriles motorizados mediante el uso de
tecnología de vacío. Con la aplicación exclusiva de
solución de ligante líquido, la película de etiquetas de
alta retracción se puede sellar adecuadamente y con
firmeza, creando así la funda.
La funda creada desciende y se aplica al recipiente. Un
túnel de calor situado en la salida de la etiquetadora
completa el proceso de retracción. La creación de la
funda está integrada en el proceso de etiquetado, por lo
que se consigue un gran ahorro en material de película
impreso respecto a los procesos de conversión de
fundas tradicionales.
La máquina FORMSLEEVE+ es adecuada para recipientes cilíndricos o de otras formas de plástico, lata
o vidrio con la aplicación de etiquetas envolventes de
POLIOLEFINA/PET/PVC/PLA/OPS de distintos grosores
a partir de bobinas y con solución de líquido ligante.

The present demands of marketing, engineering and
production indicate challenges which can only be solved
with a very high level of specialization.
“Traditional” labellers are often unable to face requests
such as the application of several labels on the same
container at different production speeds, combining
various technologies (self-adhesive, cold glue, hot melt,
roll-fed) and using different materials either for containers
(glass, PET, HDPE,…) or labels (paper, plastic).
This is why SACMI has developed two different technologies to meet such needs: Modul Labelling Machines,
and Combi Labelling Machines.

OPERA MODUL
The most effective and flexible solutions using “plug
& play” labelling technologies. This solution offers
customers the possibility to considerably reduce the
machine dimensions, as well as easier installation into
new or existing production line. Each module consists
of a labelling station mounted on a moving cart which
can be easily connected and disconnected from the
machine base frame, and replaced by other modules
of different technologies and performances, according
to the labelling needs.

The Opera Adhesive is an automatic rotary labelling machine
for the application of self-adhesive (pressure sensitive) labels on
either cylindrical or shaped containers made of glass,
plastic or metal.

The Opera ADHESIVE is an Automatic rotary labelling
machine to apply, with the maximum reliability and
precision, self-adhesive (pressure sensitive) labels on
either cylindrical or shaped containers made of glass,
plastic or metal.
The adhesive labels, placed on a reel support, are applied
to the containers within the machine carousel.
The container presence photocell positioned near the
inlet wheel generates a signal used for starting the
labelling process when a container is present. The label
film is transferred from the unwinder reel to the winder
reel, through dandy rolls system, return rollers, a drive
roller and a peel plate . The operating parameters of the
labelling unit can be changed directly from the control
panel. The label is separated from the support, that is
wrapped around the winder, and is picked up from the
container standing on the platforms. A suitable pressing
device assures that the label adheres to the container
surface.
The wide range of models available offer the possibility to
apply 6 or more adhesive labels on the same container,
with a production speed up to 60.000 CPH.
