Contemporània de Barcelona, la exposición ‘Big
Bang Data’ podrá verse en Madrid, en el Espacio
Fundación Telefónica, del 25 de febrero al 24 de
mayo de 2015.

Barcelona (CCCB), the exhibition ‘Big Bang
Data’ moves to Madrid, where it will be on view at
Espacio Fundación Telefónica from 25 February
to 24 May 2015.

La generación constante de datos a través de
dispositivos tan cotidianos como el teléfono
móvil ha originado la proliferación de redes de
información cuyo enorme potencial como herramienta en procesos participativos o como instrumento mercantil, así como los riesgos que conlleva, son temas que están hoy en el centro del
debate político, económico y cultural. ‘Big Bang
Data’ explora la emergencia de este fenómeno,
y analiza los efectos de la datificación del mundo
a través de la visión de creadores procedentes
de diferentes campos y disciplinas, entre ellos
Chris Jordan, Erik Kessels, David Bowen, Ingo
Günther o Eric Fischer. A continuación se recogen algunas de las obras expuestas.
The constant generation of data through dailyuse objects like mobile phones expands the
information networks, which become a valuable tool in participatory processes and have a
great potential as marketing instrument. These
advantages and also the risks this information
explosion entails are at the center of the political,
economic and cultural debate. ‘Big Bang Data’
explores this phenomenon, and analyzes the
effects of datification through the views of creators working in different fields and disciplines,
including, among other names, Chris Jordan,
Erik Kessels, David Bowen, Ingo Günther or Eric
Fischer. The following pages show some of the
works displayed in the exhibition.
