Rhythm Path helps to bring the
culture of west Africa to people of all
ages through hands on drumming
events.

Bilingual storyteller Sue
Young is an accomplished
singer and songwriter
who received a 2013
Texas
Music Awards
nomination for Female
Vocalist of the Year.
Sue’s bilingual concert
showcases the diverse
cultural heritage of Texas. Classroom on Wheels Children will learn the benefits
of public transportation, bus
safety, and experience VIA’s
specially designed “green hybrid
bus.
Storybook Theatre of Texas has
performed for over a million young
people and continues to encourage
them to excel in reading and in life!
Each production is carefully crafted
to capture the imagination of the
audience and bring stories to life!
The LITTLE READ WAGON
is the San Antonio Public
Library’s early literacy outreach program, designed to
support the development of
young children’s love of
books, reading and learning.
Parents and caregivers will
have
opportunities
to
practice the five pre-reading
strategies that will help their
child get ready to learn how
to read.
“Dinosaur George” Blasing is a self
taught paleontologist and animal
behaviorist with more than 35 years of
study and research. He brings the
museum to the classroom!
This project is supported in part by a grant
from the Texas Commission on the Arts.
After 30 years of teaching, primarily
in the speech/theater field, Dru
Woods entered the world of
storytelling to educate, enrich, and
entertain. She entwines music,
puppetry, enthusiasm, energy, and
story to create a memorable
experience.
Author Visits
Dr. Laura Aten, EC teacher, and
her daughter Kate Aten, both EC
graduates, collaborated on a just
released children’s book entitled,
Round and Round and Back Again. Come meet the author and
illustrator and learn how to create
the
beautiful
water
color
illustrations found in the book.
Charles Steen, fifth grade
teacher from Salado Elementary
will share poems from his book
entitled, A Thought For Your Thoughts.

such serious topics as drug abuse
