Es autora de los libros I Doodle Therefore I Am y To Doodle or Not to Doodle. Tania Marmolejo (Santo Domingo, 1975) G raduate in Fine Arts and Design in Kristiansand (Norway), Altos de Chavón (Dominican Republic) and Parsons The New School for Design (New York). Her work is a mix of her Scandinavian inheritance, evidenced in the use of intertwined decorative lines when illustrating natural surroundings reminiscent of the Nordic folk art and ancient Viking styles, as well as her Caribbean essence: color, warmth, exuberance of the landscape and flora that influence and coexist intentionally in her paintings and textile designs. For this project of cement tiles Tania uses as a foundation the line as an element of design, recalling Swedish textile prints, while incorporating Caribbean themes, such as the “Coralillo” flower, tropical gardens and the sea. Tania Marmolejo is represented by the Lyle O. Reitzel Gallery and her work has been exhibited at Context Art Miami and Pinta NY, in national and international exhibitions, as well as in the acclaimed production of The Vagina Monologues (NY). She is author of the books I Doodle Therefore I Am and To Doodle or Not to Doodle. She lives in New York, where she is developing her next series of paintings and works as a textile designer for the Nanette Lepore for JC Penney collection, Nicole Miller and XOXO, among others. (Santiago, Dominican Republic,1985) V isual artist and graphic designer who is in love with paper and passionate about patterns and the process of producing them. He started his studies of arts at UMASS Amherst in Boston, MA. Guillermo continued his formal studies of Design of Communications in Parsons The New School for Design in New York and here is where his interest for the process of mechanical production of silk-screen printing, lithography and etching is born. His research led him to receive training from the Master Printer Marie Dormuth, former reproductor of Andy Warhol and Peter Gee, and Martin Mazorra in lithography. His work bears some influence from vibrations and repetitions of experimental electronic music, mosaics and mainly from the patterns of human behavior. He currently lives and works in Santo Domingo, where he develops his own reproductions and installations while also integrating new techniques using robotic cutting technology in a variety of industrial materials.
