THE BARRIERS THAT SEPARATE US
LAS BARRERAS QUE NOS SEPARAN
We live in a society that has many technological avenues
for stimulation and entertainment, one in which the
urban population exceeds the non-urban. It is curious
that loneliness is a prevalent malady. It is easy to reach
out and touch someone, we are told. But—in truth—it is
not all that easy, and statistics from the mental health
field will reinforce that opinion. Today’s readings are
about the ways in which we can authentically reach out:
God touches Adam to create a mate and end his solitude;
God-in-Jesus takes on human flesh and death in order that
we might come to glory; Jesus reaches out to the children
whom the disciples had tried to keep away, showing us
the manner in which we must approach the loving
embrace that awaits us in heaven. Until that day,
however, we must remember that ours is a sacramental
church, a church of signs of the love of God. So we are
called to reach out continually to ease the loneliness and
the barriers that separate us from one another and,
therefore, from the love of Christ.
Vivimos en una sociedad que tiene muchas posibilidades tecnológicas para la estimulación y el entretenimiento, en que la
población urbana supera la no urbana. Es curioso que la soledad sea un mal prevalente. Es fácil de alcanzar y tocar a alguien, se nos dice. Pero, en verdad, no es tan fácil, y las estadísticas de salud mental refuerzan esa opinión. Las lecturas de
hoy son las formas en las que auténticamente podemos acercarnos a otros: Dios toca a Adán para crearle una compañera
y poner fin a su soledad, Dios en Jesús asume forma humana y
la muerte con el fin de que podamos llegar a la gloria; Jesús se
acerca a los niños que los discípulos habían tratado de alejar,
mostrándonos así cómo aceptar el abrazo amoroso que nos
espera en el cielo. Hasta ese día, sin embargo, debemos recordar que la nuestra es una Iglesia sacramental, una Iglesia de
signos del amor de Dios. Y así estamos llamados a acercarnos
a otros continuamente para aliviar la soledad y derribar las
barreras que nos separan unos de otros y, por tanto, del amor
de Cristo.

Talking to your kids about cell phone safety
The more advanced cellular devices become, the more
functions they have available. Sending pictures over the
Internet is something that children do all the time. Photomessaging on cell phones is no different. Children need to be
aware why all pictures are not appropriate to send. They also
need to know that if they receive a message or image that
makes them uncomfortable, they should immediately tell you
or another trusted adult. For a helpful pamphlet on cell phone

"LO QUE DIOS HA UNIDO, QUE NO LO SEPARE EL HOMBRE" (Mc.10, 9)
Este versículo bíblico, se refiere a la unión del hombre y la mujer, el sueño de Dios, es que la unión de un hombre y una mujer sea para siempre. En la celebración del sacramento del matrimonio, el ministro dice a la pareja: "lo que Dios acaba de
unir, que no lo separe el hombre", eso es lo que se llama la "indisolubilidad" del matrimonio, la indisolubilidad del hombre y
la mujer. Seria algo ideal que no hubieran divorcios ni separaciones matrimoniales, lamentablemente no es así, a diario hay
divorcios y separaciones; estamos atravesando una crisis matrimonial. Dios y la Iglesia quieren que la unión de un hombre con
una mujer sea para toda la vida. El matrimonio como todos los sacramentos no son algo "mágico", Dios nos da la gracia y la
fuerza necesaria para vivir plenamente la vida matrimonial; pero el hombre y la mujer tienen que poner su cuota, para perseverar hasta el final, ambos tienen que luchar todos los días para crecer, madurar y profundizar en el amor. El machismo es
una de una causa muy fuerte, que afectan en el matrimonio, tenemos que desterrar la actitud machista en los matrimonios.
Existen elementos fundamentales que ayudaran a mejorar la vida matrimonial: amor, respeto, confianza, fidelidad, sinceridad, cariño, ternura, comprensión, dialogo y comunicación, los bonitos detalles, etc... Pero lo más importante es la fe en
Dios, y hacer parte viva y activa a Dios, en el matrimonio. Sigamos luchando para perseverar hasta el final, en la vocación
matrimonial, y así hacer realidad el sueño de Dios. "LO QUE DIOS HA UNIDO, QUE NO LO SEPARE EL HOMBRE"
"WHAT GOD HAS JOINED TOGETHER, LET NO ONE MAN SEPARATE IT " (MC.10, 9)
This Bible verse refers to the union of man and woman, God's dream is that the union of a man and a woman is forever. In
celebration of the sacrament of marriage, the minister said to the couple: "what God just joined, let not man separate",
that is what is called the "indissolubility" of marriage, the indissolubility of men and women. Ideal would be something that
would not have divorces and marital separations, unfortunately not, every day there are divorces and separations, are going
through a marital crisis. God and the Church want the union of a man and a woman is for life. Marriage as all sacraments
are not something "magical," God gives us the grace and strength to live out married life, but men and women have to put
their share, to endure to the end, both have to fight every day to grow, mature and deeper in love. Machismo is a result of
a very strong affect in marriage, we must banish the macho attitude in marriages. There are key elements that help improve
married life: love, respect, trust, loyalty, sincerity, warmth, tenderness, understanding, dialogue and communication, nice
touches, etc ... But most important is faith in God, and make a living and active God in marriage. Let struggling to endure
to the end, in the vocation of marriage, and thus realize the dream of God. "What God has joined together, let no one man
separate it."
A LIVING ROSARY
A Family Living Rosary will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 8:00 Am in our Church of Mary Immaculate.
This yearly 1 hour event is offered in honor of the coming 100th year anniversary of “Our Lady of Fatima.” 65 youth of
the parish will lead the rosary prayers. Families will hear the message of Fatima and its importance to peace. Benediction will be included. We as families to urge your kids who can lead a prayer, to sign up in the Parish Office. It is also
important for all of us to know the message of Fatima, especially in this Year of Faith in which the Pope wants all Catholics to learn more about their faith. This event started here in California and is now taking place on 4 continents and is
growing. Be part of the mystery. There are many reasons in today’s world to stay on our knees, hold fast to our faith, and
follow the advice given by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima. There are sign ups in the Parish Office for any young people who can lead one prayer of the rosary. Further details are available on the sign up forms. Again the event is on the
second Saturday of October right after the 7:00 AM morning mass. Everyone is invited.
