Go… Baptize… Teach…

Pope Francis’ Prayer Intentions for September
Universal: That opportunities for education and employment may
increase for all young people.
Evangelization: That catechists may give witness by living in a
way consistent with the faith they proclaim.
Mass Etiquette
The Church is a holy place
where God dwells. Keeping the
pews clean from trash and gum
is one way we can respect
God's house. Another way is by
not writing in the books. Clean
pews and books will help you
and those around you
remember that you are in God’s
house.

St. John Paul II on Respect
for Life
“Never tire of firmly speaking
out in defense of life from its
conception and do not be
deterred from the commitment
to defend the dignity of every
human person with courageous
determination. Christ is with
you: be not afraid!”
Respect Life Month: Every Life is Worth Living
Created in the image of God, every human life is valuable. Despite health
issues, suffering, and length, every life is worth living. October is
dedicated to the respect of human life. Throughout the month, different
events will be held in the diocese in order to pray for and defend life.
Join in the prayers and participate in the events.
40 Days for Life (Sept. 23 –Nov 1) will hold a peaceful prayer vigil outside of an abortion facility in Roswell.
Life Chain Forsyth (Oct 4) will stand along Peachtree Parkway for 90
minutes of prayer.
(For more information on respect for life events, turn to page 3).

Pre-Register now for 2016 GRACE
Scholars Program!
GRACE Scholars was founded to award
scholarships to students who wish to
attend Georgia Catholic Schools.
According to the SSO/tax credit
legislation, taxpayers may redirect part of
their Georgia income taxes to GRACE.
GRACE then awards scholarships to
students whose families demonstrate
financial need. The goal is to secure a
quality Pre-K -12 Catholic education.
Since the foundation in 2008, more than
3,000 taxpayers have participated in the
program.
The GRACE board allocates funds to the
school designated by the donor. Schools
eligible to receive funds include GRACE
schools and independent Catholic
schools. This includes Pinecrest
Academy. A donor may choose up to 3
designations by listing the amount desired
for each entity. If a designated school's
needs are met, the board may transfer
funds to another school. This is in
compliance with the state law regarding
the annual distribution of funds. If there is
no designation, funds will go to the
schools with the greatest need.
