Al reunir a mujeres líderes exitosos, esperamos educar, inspirar y animar a los asistentes a reflexionar sobre sus propios objetivos
y el estado de sus esfuerzos por avanzar en sus organizaciones.

ANGELES VALENCIANO

Angeles Valenciano was recently appointed as chief executive officer of the National Diversity Council (NDC). In this role,
she will continue to advance the NDC’s mission of fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She will also focus on
strengthening partnerships with businesses, academia and the community at large.
Ms. Valenciano is a seasoned strategist with more than 20 years of experience in human resources, primarily focused on diversity,
organizational change, and development. She was previously president of the Healthcare Diversity Council and executive vice
president of the NDC. She also served as vice president of business development for the Texas Diversity Council (TXDC). Ms.
Valenciano was the TXDC’s first executive director with responsibility over operations and policy implementation as adopted
by the Board of Directors. She directed the agendas of the regional diversity council’s advisory boards. Under her leadership,
the annual Women in Leadership Symposium was created and is now a national and global event held in more than twelve
states and several countries.
Formerly, Ms. Valenciano was the director of diversity and inclusion for 84 Lumber Company. She provided leadership and
direction for the infrastructure, design, formulation, implementation and execution of the organization’s overall diversity strategy.
She was also responsible for ensuring the efficacy of these business practices, processes, and procedures. Ms. Valenciano’s role was
carried out in the company’s business expansion into Mexico and Canada.As an assistant vice president and officer at JPMorgan,
she served in the capacity of leadership development consultant in Credit Card Services and Organizational Development, and
consultant to Customer Services’ clients. Ms. Valenciano also managed the strategic direction and execution of organizationalwide development processes as well as diversity programs and initiatives.
Active in charitable and civic affairs, Ms. Valenciano is a graduate of the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de San
Luis Potosí located in the City of San Luis Potosí in Mexico with a degree in business and computer information systems. She
holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certificate from University of Villanova. She has completed various leadership
and professional development programs. Ms. Valenciano is fluent in English and Spanish. She serves on the board of the Science,
Engineering and Technology at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. She is a strong advocate and chairs several committees
for people with disabilities in the workplace. She is a proud ally to the LGBT community and is active with several chambers of
commerce across the country. Ms. Valenciano lives in San Antonio, TX, with her children Tony, Diego and Mario.

CRISTINA RUIZ DE VELASCO
External Affairs Executive Director, AT&T
Cristina Ruiz de Velasco is Executive Director of External Affairs for AT&T in México. With a more
than 15-year experience in the telecommunications sector, she leads AT&T’s public policy advocacy
in Mexico, helping establishing important links with government and industry leaders.
Before joining AT&T, Cristina served as Vice President of Public Affairs for Nextel México, and as
Director of the Nextel Foundation, where she was in chrge of government relations at federal and state
levels, with the Congress, state legislatures, and regulation bodies. She has been part of areas related to the telecommunications
reforms in Mexico to drive competition.
Cristina is member of the International Women’s Forum, México Chapter, and she’s the only Latin American woman included
in the Global Telecom Women’s Network, she’s a member of the Global System Mobile Association (GSMA), and a speaker on
social responsibility and telecommunicatioins, among other activities.
Cristina has a degree in International Affairs from the Universidad Iberoamericana, and she has other graduate degrees from
México and other countries, including a diploma in Senior Management from the IPADE; the Leadership Program from
Georgetown University, and a Finance Program from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
YOUMNA HARB
Vice President, Charge Products & Marketing, American Express
Youmna is a professional with 15+ years experience in strategic planning, product management,
marketing, project management and sales. She is a leader of multi-disciplinary teams, a change agent
and results driven. Youmna is responsible for the Charge Portfolio and the marketing area. In this role,
she manages the Charge P&L and product management, leads co-brand renegotiations and defines
the brand, loyaltyand digital strategy for Consumer. She joined AXP in 2005 as Business Planner for
GCP in Mexico. During the past 10 years she held different roles within the organization leading key
initiatives such as Mexico Globestar Migration, the Charge Portfolio Revitalization, the launch of the PAYBACK & Interjet
Co-branded Products and the introduction of Chip to our portfolios among others.
Prior to joining AXP, Youmna worked at Banorte (Mexican Bank) & A.T. Kearney as a Strategic Consultant for LAC. Youmna
holds a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from Darden Graduate School of Business. On her personal
time she enjoys training for triathlons.
LYSSETTE BRAVO
Head of External Communications, Mexico and Latin America, HSBC
Lyssette Bravo is a public affairs professional with 23 years’ experience in corporate communications
(external and employee communications), including five-plus years as HSBC’s head press officer for
Mexico and Latin America. Her passion for building and leading highly capable teams, cross-cultural
fluency, strong analytical skills, and drive to support the organization’s core values and bottom-line
results distinguish Lyssette as a leader. She has a demonstrated ability to recognize opportunities for
success stories and broad-based expertise in crisis communication She is skilled in Internal Corporate
Communications and in Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2013 Lyssette was awarded as one of the top women executives in
Mexico for Mujer Ejecutiva Magazine

ERIKA ELIAS
Chief Financial Officer, Mexico, Nielsen
Erika Elias, is currently the CFO of Nielsen Mexico, where she oversees financial planning,
controllership, taxes and treasury. She joined Nielsen on last September 2015, as LATAM Financial
Planning Director, coordinating the forecasting for 19 countries.
Prior to Nielsen, she worked in the financial sector from 2003 to 2015 in different positions: General
Electric Capital, where she served as Financial Planning & Analysis Director for LATAM; as CFO for
Genworth Financial Mexico (former General Electric Financial Assurance); and as FP&A and Pricing Manager for General
Electric Money. At the beginning of her career she worked as a Controller in the industrial sector at Wells Lamont Industry
group, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.
Her main expertise areas are: financial analysis, pricing, securitizations, ABC costing, M&A and business intelligence. Erika
holds a bachelor degree in Accounting from Universidad Iberoamericana and a MBA from IPADE. During her free time, she
likes reading, running and cycling. Her favorite leadership quote: “A leader leads by example, not by force.” – Sun Tzu
LAURA BONILLA
Corporate Affairs for Mexico and Caribbean, Unilever
Since she joined Unilever in 1982, she showed her passion, commitment and professionalism, which
took her to be assigned as Manager in different positions such as: Regulatory Affairs and Consumer
Engagement Centre. She was Treasurer of Pond’s® Mexico and Financial Sales Analyst. She is currently
part of the National Executive Group of Unilever Mexico and Caribbean.
Laura is President of the National Chamber of Oil, Detergents and Soaps (CANAJAD). Since 2011
she was elected as President of the Social Business Responsibility Committee of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers
(CONCAMIN). Additionally, she is member of the Board of the Canned Food Industry Chamber (CANAINCA), and
participates in the British Chamber and the Mexican Council of Consumption Products (ConMéxico). She was President
of the National Chamber of Cosmetic Industry Products (CANIPEC).
During five years, she was the coordinator of the Committee of Food Labeling of the Codex Alimentarius of Mexico,
representing the General Commission of Codex in Geneva and Rome.
Along her career in the industry she has enjoyed great satisfactions, such as reaching the modification of the General Health
Law on Cosmetics, managing to harmonize it with the rest of the world, in order to be part of the export leaders in LATAM.
For her great achievements in Unilever and for her professional career in general terms, Laura was granted in 2014 with the
National Women Award, by the National Women Chamber, A.C. She has been speaker, talking on sustainability in different
fora, such as: Green Solutions, organized by the Ministry of Economy and the National Technological Institute of Monterrey
(ITESM); the Green Alternatives Forum, and in the Mexican Institute of Aerosols; as well as in the International Congress
CLARES of Social Responsibility organized by the Anahuac University.
