Attention all Parents of current enrolled students with siblings interested in attending the
2013-2014 School Year:
You need to fill an application on the website or in the
Front Office!!!
If you are interested in applying for any siblings of current enrolled students please stop by the
front office and bring the birth certificate of the sibling to Ms. Diaz or Ms. Cornell. The staff will
match the birth certificate to the current student to confirm sibling status and then place that
sibling on a Sibling List. This list will be provided to administrators at the time of the lottery and
these students will have first opportunity for the available spaces. This is not a guarantee that
your child will be accepted. This is only giving them the first option to any available space.
The deadline to verify sibling status is Friday, March 15th.
Siblings wanting to enroll in Kindergarten must be 5 on the first day of school.
Please remember that there is NO EXCEPTION to this deadline under ANY circumstance.

8:15am you MUST come in and sign your student in ***

Rehearsal for the play Cinderella and the Fairy Godfather's Spell will be on
Mondays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:00. If you are a cast member please
make your payment of $10 at the front office for the Script Fee.

Play performances will be March 22nd at 7:00 pm and March 23rd
at 2:30 pm and 6:00 pm
Movie Night
The Drama Club will be hosting a “Witchy Double Feature” on February 15th,
starting at 5:00 pm. We will be showing Hocus Pocus and The Witches.
Costumes are encouraged. Tickets will be $2.00 per person. There will also be a
combo pack for $5.00. That gives you admission, 1 popcorn & 1 drink.
Concessions will be sold. Please come out and support the Drama Club and our
first ever production… Cinderella and the Fairy Godfather’s Spell.

Sweetheart Dance
Harmony Science Academy will host a Sweetheart Dance on Friday,
February 8th. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and dancing will follow
from 7:15– 8:30 p.m.
All girls in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade are invited to
attend. Tickets must be purchased in advance. A ticket includes
dinner for each girl and a *special grownup, dancing and an entrance to
the drawings that will be held.
*(A special grown up might be-Dad, Grandfather, Uncle, or other male
relative/neighbor.)
Drawings will be held for prizes, and pictures will be taken as well.
Tickets are$20.00 per couple. Each additional daughter is $5.00.
Please return this form and money to the front office. No cash please,
checks or debit card. Checks require license and phone number. Forms
must be submitted no later than Friday, February 1st. Tickets will not be
sold at the door.

Parent Notification Letter concerning 2011-2012 NCLB Report Card

Harmony Science Academy – Grand Prairie is sharing this information about the district and your
child’s campus with you as part of Harmony Science Academy’s obligations under the federal No
Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB).

NCLB Report Cards for the state as a whole, the district, and each of the district’s campuses
are now available on the district’s web site at this link: http://www.hsagp.org

You may also request a copy from front office.
Information on these report cards includes:
• Assessment results for the LEA and campuses in the aggregate and disaggregated by race/ethnicity,
gender, disability status, migrant status, English proficiency, and economically disadvantaged
showing two-year (2010-2011 and 2011-2012) trend data for each subject and grade tested:



by performance level,
with a comparison between annual objectives and actual performance for each student group,
and
including the percentage of each group of students not tested.
• Graduation rates for secondary school students.
• Performance of school district and campuses on adequate yearly progress (AYP) measures.
• Number and names of Title I schools identified as in need of improvement, including the stage of
improvement and AYP indicator missed by any schools identified for improvement.
• Professional qualifications of teachers in the LEA and campuses, including the percentage of

Atención a todos los padres de los actuales alumnos matriculados con hermanos
interesados en asistir al Año Escolar 2013-2014:
USTED TIENE QUE PASAR NUESTRA OFICINA Y LLENA UNA
APLICACIÓN!
Si usted está interesado en solicitar para algún hermano de los actuales estudiantes matriculados
por favor pase por la oficina y lleve el certificado de nacimiento del hermano a la Sra. Díaz o
Sra. Cornell. El personal coincidirá con el certificado de nacimiento para el estudiante actual
para confirmar el estado hermano y luego colocar ese hermano en una lista. Esta lista se
proporcionará a los administradores en el momento de la lotería y los estudiantes tendrán la
primera oportunidad para los espacios disponibles. Esto no es una garantía de que su hijo será
aceptado. Esto sólo es darles la primera opción para cualquier espacio disponible.

Ensayo para el drama la Cenicienta y el Hechizo el padrino de hadas será los
lunes y jueves de 4:00-5:00. Si usted es un miembro del reparto por favor
haga su pago de $ 10 en la oficina para adquirir el libreto de la obra.
NO más voluntarios para la biblioteca escolar hasta nuevo aviso.
La obra será 22 de marzo a las 7:00 pm y 23 de marzo a las 2:30

Noche de cine
El Club de Teatro será el anfitrión de una noche de cine , el 15 de febrero, a partir de las
5:00 pm. Estaremos mostrando Hocus Pocus y y “ Las brujas” . Si se anima puede traer
disfraces. Las entradas estarán a $ 2,00 por persona. También habrá un paquete
combinado por $ 5,00. Eso te da la admisión, palomitas de maíz y una bebida. Las
concesiones se venderán. Por favor venga y apoye el Club de Drama y nuestra producción
por primera vez... Cenicienta y el hechizo de la hada padrino.
Tenemos muchas cosas perdidas en el “Perdido y Encontrado”. Por favor pase
por la cafetería a ver si su hijo perdió alguno de sus artículos. Después del
15 de febrero todo será DONADO!

Sweetheart Dance
Harmony Science Academy llevará a cabo un baile, el viernes 8 de febrero. La
cena se servirá a las 6:30 pm y el baile será de 7:15-8:30pm.
Todas las niñas en los grados de K hasta el 12 grado están invitadas a asistir. Los
boletos deben ser comprados por adelantado. El billete incluye cena para cada niña
y un adulto * especial el baile, y una entrada a los dibujos que se llevará a cabo.
* (Un especial acompañante podría ser-papá, abuelo, tío u otro pariente masculino /
vecino.)
Los sorteos serán con los premios, y se tomarán fotos también.
Los boletos cuestan $ 20.00 por pareja. Cada hija adicional es de $ 5,00.

dinero en efectivo, cheques o tarjetas de débito. Los cheques requieren de licencia

El Harmony Science Academy-Grand Prairie está compartiendo con usted la información sobre el

La información de las tarjetas de reporte incluye:
• Los resultados de la evaluación del distrito y las escuelas (planteles) en conjunto y por categorías de
raza/etnia, género, estatus de discapacidad, estatus migratorio, domino del idioma inglés y desventaja
económica muestran las tendencias en los datos de dos años (2010-2011 y 2011-2012) para cada
materia y grado evaluados:
O Por nivel de aptitud/rendimiento,
o Con una comparación entre los objetivos anuales y el desempeño actual de cada grupo de
estudiantes, e
o Incluyendo el porcentaje de cada grupo de estudiantes no evaluados.
• Las tasas de graduación para estudiantes de la preparatoria (high school).
• El rendimiento del distrito escolar y las escuelas respecto a las medidas de “progreso anual adecuado”
