Room at the school. -Talk to us at Back to School Night On behalf of the PTC Board, welcome students and families to the 2016-17 school year! We are so excited
about the upcoming school year. We took feedback from everyone and have some really great things planned
this year! To volunteer please visit the Beaverton School District Website at
https://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/depts/CCI/volunteer-engage and create a volunteer
account and background check – this is a brand new system, so all new volunteers must
go through the process. You can indicate events you’re interested in volunteering at.
You can also email us directly at [email protected] to express interest in
volunteering.
Did you know that just by being a parent/guardian of a student at Aloha Huber Park, that you are a member
of the PTC? All parents and staff are encouraged to participate in the PTC and our sponsored activities. This
year we’ve added a second meeting time to encourage more participation - 3:30pm and 6:00pm on the first
Wednesday of the month. A little about us – we are an independent organization and we do not belong to any state or national
affiliation, or support any political platforms. Because we are a PTC, we keep all of the funds that we raise
from our school rather than sending money for state and/or national dues or fees. Our mission is to
promote open communication and understanding between parents and staff of the Aloha Huber Park School.
Our dedication is to enhance and maximize the education of all children, while aiding them in achieving their
highest potential. We look forward to an AMAZING year; please won’t you join us in making this school a great place for our kids
to attend! We want your input on what events you would like to see here at Aloha Huber Park and what you
think the money we raise should be used for! -

Based on feedback and popularity of events, the PTC Board has worked hard this summer to set up the
following fundraising events; the Fun Run, Harvest Festival, Winter Festival, Save Around Coupon Books,
Read-A-Thon and STEAM Change Drive. We will also have some smaller events/community building such as ;
McTeacher’s Night, Movie Nights, and Bowling Night. We are in need of volunteers for all events, please fill

Cougar Fun Run
This is the first fundraiser each year, this year the Cougar Fun Run will be on Friday September 30th.
Packets will be going home with students the week of 9/19 - we have some fantastic prizes this year, so make sure to look for this
information. Funds raised support field trips for all students. If you’d like to volunteer at this event, please fill out the attached

Harvest and Winter Festivals
These are great community events! The PTC is partnering with the Middle Schoolers to help run both events this year. The Harvest
Festival will be held the evening of Friday October 21st and the Winter Festival will be Friday December 9th, students and their families
are invited to come celebrate activities, each food, and play carnival games with us! Estos son los grandes eventos de la comunidad !

Restaurant Nights + Bowling Night
Every other month, we will be hosting restaurant nights. Three times this year, we will have McTeacher’s Night - same as last year!
This was a huge success, and the students and teachers loved it! We will also have 2 pizza nights at Papa’s Pizza and a Bowling Night
will be held at Super Play. All you have to do is gather your family and friends, eat at the restaurant and our school gets a portion of
the proceeds, easy peesy! Cada dos meses , que será el anfitrión de noches de restaurantes. Tres veces este año, vamos a tener

Grades compete for the most money raised! Money goes to support programs in science, technology, engineering, art, and music! The

Movie Nights
Every other month we will host a movie night on the first Friday. This was a huge hit last year, the movie itself is free while snacks will
be for sale. Students will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite movie! Cada dos meses vamos a realizar una noche de cine en
