We are the Mexican American Catholic College!
SOMOS MACC We are the Mexican American Catholic College! Volume 2 | Issue 1 | Fall 2015 During this time of thanksgiving, we are especially grateful for your constant support of our mission to educate and empower leaders for service in a culturally diverse Church and society. Your investment in MACC has produced a harvest of fruitful works over the years. Most recently, your generosity expanded our mission to include bilingual degree-based programs in Pastoral Ministry. Since 2009, these programs empowered over 30 students with B.A. degrees and certificates. This December, we will graduate an additional five students, and over 30 will complete their studies in May! In addition to our on-campus programs, MACC continues to assist communities across the country. This summer, we partnered with Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities (FADICA), the National Leadership Roundtable on Church Management, and the University of Incarnate Word to offer a national symposium on Philanthropy and Hispanic Ministry in the 21st Century. This fall, we also offered workshops, fostering intercultural competencies, to the clergy, religious, and lay leaders of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, the Diocese of Dodge City, Kansas, and the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart. Thanks to you, MACC’s mission is vibrant and responding innovatively to the needs, challenges, and opportunities of today. As Pope Francis so powerfully reminded us in his recent visit, we must be willing to move beyond our routines and comfort zones to be the presence of Christ in the peripheries. I hope you will continue to accompany us through prayer and financial support. Just as your prayers strengthen our spiritual well-being, your tax-deductible donation – of whatever amount – reinforces and maintains the strong foundation you have helped to build! God bless you! Sincerely in Christ, Arturo Chávez, Ph.D. St. Paul reminds us to be generous with our time, talent, and treasure, saying, “Whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully...you are being enriched in every way for all generosity, which through us produces thanksgiving to God.” 2 Cor. 9:6-9 Mexican American Catholic College | www.maccsa.org Somos MACC 2 ¡ Muchas Su generosidad es profundamente apreciada, Foundations & Trusts Anonymous Catholic Extension, Chicago, IL Kenedy Memorial Foundation, Corpus Christi, TX Koch Foundation, Gainesville, FL Scanlan Foundation, Houston, TX Strake Foundation, Houston, TX Our Good Shepherds Most Rev. We sincerely appreciate the financial commitment you have made to MACC. While there, I had the opportunity not only to learn a considerable amount of vocabulary, grammar & culture, but also had the opportunity to proclaim the Word in Spanish and preside, in Spanish, at Mass. It is a bit unbelievable, but true! I highly recommend MACC’s pastoral Spanish. Rev. Joseph S. Costantino, SJ St. Peter’s University, Jersey City, NY
