OLL Cross Country Meet
Nutty Scientists
Last week, our Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students attended a science
presentation called “Nutty Scientists”, an interactive program for children of all ages. Based on
real and hands-on experiences, the program teaches STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics) concepts in an engaging and entertaining way. The program also covers
Environmental and Health issues. Our children loved participating in this fun and educational
presentation!
Bright & Smart
On the other hand, our middle school students
participated in Bright and Smart, an
interactive program that teaches robotics, engineering
and computer programming (coding) skills. Students
worked together to learn these tasks, fostering teamwork,
critical thinking, and problem solving.

Join us for our Second Annual Respect Life Luncheon on Saturday, September 27 2014 where we will be celebrating
life! Our speakers this year are Ombretta Salvucci, Ph.D. and Dr. Mark Basik, both from the NIH (National Institute of
Health) in Washington, DC. The subject will be Dr. Jerome Lejeuine, the father of modern genetics who discovered the
extra chromosome 21, responsible for the condition known as Down Syndrome which he called Trisomy 21. Lejeune
dedicated his life to research and to caring for the intellectually disabled. The Jerome Lejeune Foundation continues
his work today by serving thousands of patients with Trisomy 21. For more information and tickets, please call Respect
