which to explore the beautiful Vendée

Located between the Marais Poitevin known as the Green Venice and the forest, not too far from La Rochelle, our
gite, very comfortable for 4 people or 4 adults and 2 children, is located in the peaceful setting of a small south
Vendée Hamlet.
The cottage, awarded 3 epis and 3 stars for comfort and charm, is situated in the quiet village of St Michel le
Cloucq, 5 kms from Fontenay le Comte, 50 kms from La Rochelle and the beaches of the Atlantic. The ideal base for
exploring and enjoying the Vendee Region.
A rustic cottage fully restored to its original appearance, with exposed stone walls, wooden beams and wooden
floor and tiled ground floor. It is furnished with antique French country style comfortable furniture.
Ground floor : a large living room with a fireplace, a fully fitted modern kitchen, bathroom and separate WC. Utility
room. One double bedroom with en suite shower room. (bed 1.60 mt wide)
Upstairs : a double bedroom with one 1.40 mt wide bed, one mezzanine bedroom with two single beds, each 1.20
mt wide.
Facilities included :
Chimney, 1 satellite TV with English, german, dutch, Spanish … channels, 1 french TV, videorecorder/player, DVD
player, telephone, mini hi-fi, games, books and video cassettes, free wifi internet connection.
Dishwasher, microwaves oven, full oven, washing machine, deep freezer.
All rooms have electric heating.
To enhance comfort for a restful and enjoyable stay, there are a 500 square meters private garden, a stone patio
with garden furniture, a large outdoor roofed dining area with rustic furniture and a purpose built chimneybarbecue. 4 mountain bicycles for adults and 3 for children are available free of charge.
Bathroom towels, house linen, and bed linen is provided, the beds are made prior to arrival.
The gîte is open all year round.

The cottage is about an hour away from Nantes, La Rochelle and Poitiers airports.. Nantes is served by Ryanair
flights from Leeds Bardford and East Midlands.
La Rochelle is served by Ryanair flights from London Stansted , Dublin and Cork. Jet 2 fly to La Rochelle from Leeds
Bradford and Edinburgh.
The cottage is also convenient for self drive customers driving from either the short channel crossings or by the
overnight Brittany Ferries Portsmouth to St Malo route which is ideal.
