Highlight all of the verbs in the preterite in the passage and then translate it:
Last year I went on holiday to Spain with my family and we went to the beach, it was
fabulous. We went by plane and we stayed (nos alojamos) in a hotel on the coast.
Firstly we walked from the hotel to the beach and we were able to swim* and play*
football, it was great. Afterwards I saw an action film at the cinema with my brother,
but it was boring. It seems to me that action films are worse than comedies. On
Tuesday in the morning I did swimming and sailing with my sister, it was ok, but in
the afternoon I wanted to horseride. In the evening we walked to a restaurant and
we were able to eat lots of good food. One morning I went shopping with my
parents because they wanted to buy* souvenirs for the family.

El año pasado fui de vacaciones a España con mi familia y
fuimos a la playa, fue estupendo. Fuimos en avión y nos
alojamos en un hotel en la costa. Primero anduvimos del
hotel a la playa y pudimos nadar y jugar al fútbol, fue genial.
Después vi una película de acción al cine con mi hermano,
pero fue aburrido. Me parece que las películas de acción
son peores que las comedias.
El martes por la mañana
hice natación y vela con mi hermana, fue guay, pero por la
tarde quise hacer equitación. Por la noche anduvimos a un
restaurante y pudimos comer mucha comida buena. Una
mañana fui de compras con mis padres porque quisieron
comprar recuerdos por la familia.
