Capítulo uno
In Capítulo uno (Chapter one) we meet Patricia, a girl who lives in Panajachel, Guatemala. We are introduced to
the town, Panajachel, Guatemala, in Central America. There are a lot of tourists and many cities surrounding a lake.
Lake Atitlán is an in-active volcano that many people visit. There are many indigenous people living there. Girls wear
special clothes. There are two seasons in Panajachel.

In Capítulo dos (Chapter two) Patricia is 15 and has a normal family. She has two parents and

Patricia pays to go to school. She is content and lives a simple life.

her parents, Debbie compares the houses in Guatemala to the houses in the U.S.

her gifts, although they don’t have much money, to good-bye a party. Debbie learns
what friendship really is and what a good friend she has in Patricia. She returns to
California.
