Your generosity made this service possible. Needless to say, the food flies off the pantry shelves. Please, when you shop for the food pantry, pick up some of the following items to donate to the pantry: evaporated milk, powdered milk in individual packages, canned corn, canned fruit, tuna, and dried beans (in 1 pound bags). We never have enough cookies, cake/brownie mixes and jello. These are nice-tohave items for packing. Good Grief offers education and support to promote healing after the death of a loved one. Anyone who has lost a loved one is welcome to come to the 6-week Good Grief sessions on Tuesdays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm, beginning September 25. This is a step in the ongoing healing process of grief. Contact Marsha Riely: [email protected]; call 678-570-3220 or Debbie Rigby: [email protected];678-455-7896 for more information. Our Teens At Work In The Pantry We are so excited that each week we have help from our teens. They are truly great! There isn't a thing we ask that they don't do willingly. Take John Rawlings, as an example we needed a Volunteer Services Leader and John volunteered. He sends out reminders, keeps our volunteer list up to date and works in the pantry when his busy school and sports schedule allows. The pantry is a great opportunity for service hours and we simply love to have the help! Would you like to learn another language – English or Spanish? St. Brendan’s is issuing licenses for the Tell Me More software program. This is an interactive online program that teaches either Spanish or English. Each license is valid for one year from the activation date. This self-paced course includes achievement tests at the completion of each level. Cost is $99 with multi-family discount available. Forms are available in the Narthex. Contact Lori Salata at 404-9663911 or [email protected]. A memorial plaque in the name of Joanne D. Rice (1940 – 2009) was placed at St. Brendan’s Pond on July 26, 2012 by her son, Edward Rice and blessed by Fr. Matthew. (Pictured are Edward Rice, Fr. Matthew Van Smoorenburg, Pastor and Laurie Johnson, Business Manager) Arrangements for a plaque can be made through the front office with donations going into a special fund and allocated for the care and maintenance of the Memorial Garden area Thank You To Our Women’s Council!
