The Numbers of the Elephant
In 1954 Bernardo Candeleira arrives in the port of
Rio de Janeiro, where a shady incident forces his
desertion and he’s forced to eke out an existence.
There he meets up with a friend who’s made a
fortune in somewhat dubious business dealings.
While Spain is immersed in the darkness of a
dictatorship, Brazil is experiencing an economic
miracle where wealth coexists with sordid mafia
businesses. With the help of Albino and his new
identity, Bernardo begins a life he could never
have possibly imagined. But even the most coveted
dreams can turn into nightmares.

I Have All the World’s
Dreams in Me
On the 17th of February of 1916 –in the midst of
the Great War-, the Príncipe de Asturias, the most
modern and luxurious boat in the prosperous
Pinillos steamship line, sets sails from Barcelona to
Buenos Aires. An invincible ship that inexplicably
sinks on the night of Carnaval off the Brazilian coast
of Ilhabela. Inspired in true events, it is a masterful
recreation of various historical experiences,
including what WWI deserters lived through, the
arranged marriages between young Spanish women
and older emigrants, the persecution of European
Jews, and the illegal trafficking of women to stock
Latin American brothels, all brought together in
a marvelous novel about the desire to make your
dreams a reality.

This riveting book is set between London and New
York, from the nineties to the current day. Thomas
describes accurately and with shocking realism the
shadowy mechanisms used by those in power and
the sophisticated stage that the superrich and the
mass media employ to promote politicians, who
are simple actors playing a role written by someone
else. His story is a stark, first-person account of his
complex, destructive personality that finds greatest
satisfaction in making others unhappy, even those he
loves. Thomas Spencer’s shameless confession raises
constant questions in the reader’s mind, forcing us
to see the true nature of power in all its harsh reality
through the tale of the greatest of scoundrels.

A love story between Lena and Guillén, two young
Spaniards who fought on opposing sides during the

a poor but peaceful life, but something unexpected
happens one day: a plane crashes in the mountains.
Two French pilots lose their lives and Guillén is the
only one who manages to find the crash site with
their remains. A widow of one of the pilots, Countess
Úrsula Zalesca offers to take Guillén to France and
to educate him. Lena and Guillén will cross paths
at different points of their lives: the Spanish Civil
War, Europe during World War II or when Warsaw
was devastated by the Nazis. They are destined to be
together but history keeps putting obstacles in the

The Empire in Flames
Toward the end of 1535, two years after being
crowned in Cuzco, Manco Inca faces captivity on
orders of the Pizarro brothers. He reminisces on
the final events of his failed rebellion: the death
of his father, the powerful Huayna Cápac; the
fratricidal war that set his brothers Huáscar and
Atahualpa against each other; the Spanish invasion
led by Francisco Pizarro and the resulting capture
of Atahualpa in Cajamarca. The author manages
to construct Cuzco and Tahuantinsuyo. This is a
significant attempt to reconstruct a fundamental
part of Peru’s history, allowing readers to better
understand the unhealed scars of the past.

The Broken Hourglass
1916. Frederic Mayol, a young psychiatrist, decides
to return to Barcelona from Vienna. He takes a job
at a sanatorium housed in a building that was once
a boarding school for wealthy young girls. Frederic
falls in love with a young woman who was a student
at this enigmatic school. But the death of one of his
patients, a priest linked to the strange events that
happened at the school years earlier, leads Frederic
to attempt to unravel the mysteries of the past, while
at the same time finding himself battling bizarre
visions. What dark mystery haunts this place? Is it
some sort of curse or punishment?
In the third installment of the series, the mysterious
theft of a corpse reveals a secret web of family
intrigue. When the cadaver of the prestigious lawyer
Fernando Castellano disappears from a funeral
home, Ada Levy decides to take on a case that will
surely put her in the media spotlight. Her private
life starts to heat up at the same time. She must
face loss, death, her own ghosts and –above all—
learn to love again. Readers will empathize when
it is revealed that, behind the grisly facts there is a
daughter’s unconditional love for her father.

Regular people like Augusto Ledesma, who lives
and carries out his crimes in Valladolid, is actually
one of the most violent and crafty killers of recent
memory. His first murder awakens something inside
his seething mind, and now it struggles to act again.
The killings pile up and the city’s entire police force
throws itself into trying to solve a series of crimes
linked by poetry, music and strange mutilations.
A psychological thriller that unsettles you until the
very last page, a gripping, addictive story whose new
take on the crime genre is clearly designed to leave a
lasting mark.

Verses, Songs and Bits of Flesh III
Most case histories of serial killings show a concrete
period of time in which the criminal staves off any
homicidal impulse until he inevitably strikes again.
It is the case of Augusto Ledesma. He takes on a
new identity and gets settled in the Italian city of
Trieste where, once again, sets his bloody machine
in motion. The author’s knowledge and research into
Europe’s recent history, specifically in the dramatic
Balkan War, consolidates a solid plot, giving it even
more depth and dimension.
Augusto Ledesma has done it again. This time
the crime scene is a small Icelandic town, where
he has cruelly and inhumanely executed an entire
family. However, this time he is guided not only by
hatred, but also by a bloodthirsty desire for revenge:
only by avenging his brother can he achieve his
anxiously awaited existential harmony. Action and
psychological thriller combine in a novel that now
focuses on the hows and whys behind a series of
events that will plunge readers into a disquieting
and anxious atmosphere.

Sam Lawson, the son of famous plastic surgeons,
lives in a mansion in Sydney and is used to being
surrounded by luxury and beauty. He has just
finished university and is working at his parents’
clinic. But something happens that changes his
life completely and he decides to travel to Syria
as a volunteer. There he discovers the horrors of
war, but he also meets Nour, a lovely young Syrian
woman. Sam tries to save Nour and her family, but
getting them to a safe country does not prove easy.
Cardamomo is a love story that makes us reflect on
war, humanity, and love for the more vulnerable
among us.
Romina is a carefree, attractive woman whose life
changes from one moment to the next through
mysterious forces into an increasingly surprising
series of sexual encounters. However, beyond the
labels —voyeurism, exhibitionism, domination,
fetishism— perhaps it is only a path to a deeper
level of self-discovery, whose first stage is simply:
the body. Among her many pleasures, sex is the
one that provokes the widest range of reactions,
from blushing to boasting. The author presents
her protagonist not as the object, but the subject
of desire, though even she is not without her
hesitations and fears.

Spilt Blood
Andrea Against All Forecasts
Broken Hearts in Tragic Patagonia
An out-of-work meteorologist decides to look
for opportunities outside of Spain. Andrea lands
in London with a dream and very few pounds
sterling, but what she finds there surpasses any
meteorological forecast. She takes a retail job in a
clothing store. Her boss, Peter, is an uptight rich
guy and she feels attracted to him. This modern,
cosmopolitan novel speaks of the ups and downs of
a young woman abroad while also speaking of love,
that strange sensation that sneaks into our lives and
disrupts everything.
With the backdrop of the workers’ struggles in
Patagonia in the 1920s, two romantic stories
intertwine. Iorwerth Awstin, a descendant of the
first Welsh colonists, has just bought a failing cattle
ranch owned by a severe man named Eugenio
Montero. There he meets Montero’s granddaughter,
Julia, an orphan who is indulged by her grandfather,
a wild flower who knows nothing about love.
Iorwerth has a dark past and must tackle the
violence spreading throughout the region but also
stave off Julia’s love. Two passionate, electrifying
stories of romantic intrigue are crossed by tragedy,
as Patagonia is stained with the blood of laborers
killed at the hands of soldiers.

doesn’t seem to fit into. But why does he think about
her so much, without ever having even met her?

they are found out, Alba’s family forbids her from
