Mexico, soma authors accounting -for it in the extreme ·vat·iation of. chilensis, Be1 g placing as synonyms co1-~pacta,
Walk., rubrolineata, Spin., crassin~argo, Sign.~ and eremophila, Phil. Distant~s synonomy is: cl~ilensis, A. & · S.
rubrolineata, Spin . _, eremoplzila, Phil., and crassivena . Walk.,
with conzpacta, Walk., as a good species, and desct~ibed
n~exicana, lebruni, and parva as distinct.. Jacobi, anothet>a
reliable authority, beliebes parva lebr~tni, and n~exicana,
of Distant, compacta, Walk., and crassinzargo, Sign., to be
regional forms of the very variable clzi_lensis, Amy. & Ser,r.
A middle position is adopted in this I..,ist .
