St. Francis of Assisi Parish is a community of disciples, united through our love of Jesus Christ and our shared Catholic Faith. We joyfully respond to our personal conversion and the call of the Holy Spirit by reflecting the love of the Father through evangelization and

La parroquia de San Francisco de Asís es una comunidad de discípulos, unidos por nuestro amor a Jesucristo y por la fe católica que compartimos. Con alegría respondemos a nuestra conversión personal y al llamado del Espíritu Santo reflejando el amor del Padre a través de

Since Fr. Zach and Fr. Ivan will be departing for
their new assignments after this Sunday, we will have a big
party reception for them right after the 5:00 pm Mass and
will start the program promptly at 6:30. (The 7:00 pm
Mass in Spanish next Sunday will be cancelled.) Since the
“shows” will start at 6:45, you don’t want to be late and
miss them! The party will include finger food, cake and
punch. You will be able to greet both priests. See the
“Farewell” announcement later in this bulletin. Fr. Zach will
be serving in Mary Immaculate parish in Farmers Branch;
however, he will be spending the month of July in Nicaragua
learning even more Spanish. Fr. Ivan will be serving in St.
Pius X parish where Dallas, Garland and Mesquite meet.
We will miss them tremendously! On July 1 we will receive
Fr. Lauro Gonzalez.
Since next weekend is July 4, the celebration of
Independence Day, the office will be closed next Thursday
and Friday. On Saturday, July 4, our 8:30 am Mass will be
celebrated bilingually. The regularly scheduled nursery
during the 5:00 pm Mass on Saturday will not be open
because of the holiday; it will resume on July 11.
The High School youth of our parish will be on
mission all next week in Louisiana to help people rebuild
and repair their houses. We are so proud of them and their
adult sponsors as they take the charity of St. Francis to
those in need.
Thanks goes to Michelle Ryan and all the adult
volunteers and teen volunteers who made the annual
Vacation Bible School such a wonderful, exciting, and
energetic experience for our young disciples of Jesus.
Debido a que el P. Zach y el P. Iván se van a sus
nuevas asignaciones después de este domingo, tendremos
una fiesta/recepción especial para despedirlos después de
la Misa de 5:00 pm; el programa comenzará puntual a las
6:30. La Misa de las 7:00 pm de este domingo será cancelada. Comenzaremos el programa con las “obras teatrales” a
las 6:45 pm ¡no quieren llegar tarde y perdérselas! En la
fiesta habrá bocadillos, pastel y ponche. También podrán
saludar a los dos sacerdotes. Vean el anuncio de
“Despedida” en el interior de este boletín. El P. Zach estará
sirviendo en la parroquia de María Inmaculada en Farmers
Branch; sin embargo, él pasará un mes en Nicaragua aprendiendo más español. El P. Iván estará sirviendo en la parroquia de San Pío X en Dallas, entre Garland y Mesquite. ¡Los
vamos a extrañar muchísimo! El 1º de julio recibiremos al
P. Lauro Gonzalez.
El grupo de jóvenes de preparatoria de nuestra
parroquia estará en misiones toda la próxima semana en
Louisina para ayudar a personas a reconstruir y reparar sus
casas. Estamos muy orgullosos de ellos y de los adultos que
los patrocinaron mientras que llevan caridad a aquellos
que la necesitan.
Debido a que el próximo fin de semana es 4 de
julio, por la celebración del Día de la Independencia, la oficina estará cerrada el jueves y viernes. El sábado 4 de julio,
nuestra Misa de 8:30 am será bilingüe en la capilla de Santa
Clara. La guardería en el horario regular de la Misa de 5:00
pm del sábado no estará abierta por ser día festivo; estará
disponible nuevamente a partir del 11 de julio.

PATRIOTIC ROSARY
Fortnight For Freedom, June 21- July 4, St. Mark CatholicChurch,
Plano. Saturday, July 4th, after the 8:00AM Mass, closing of
the Fortnight For Freedom. The prayers of the Patriotic Rosary
include naming all the states and goverment positions, patriotic
readings of our Founding Fathers, and patriotic hymns. We will
pray for our country, all public officials and religious freedom. Daily prayers, reflections and readings may also be found

In honor of both Father Ivan and Father Zach, the St.
Francis of Assisi Catholic Community will be providing a formal
farewell on Sunday, June 28, 2015 after the 5pm Mass. We invite all to attend! For more information please contact the

thank you, a photo presentation of both priests will be provided
during the event. In addition, a digital copy of these photo
presentations will be provided to both our priests, in memory of

FAITH FORMATION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
As adult Catholics, we really want to make sure that our children know, love, and faithfully live our Catholic
Faith. To aid this, we need your help in our Faith Formation Program! St. Francis relies on approximately
600 volunteers to serve over 2500 Faith Formation students. We are in need of Catechists, Aides, Team
Leaders, and Substitutes for the 2015-2016 year. No experience is necessary as all training is provided.
Please prayerfully consider being a part of our Faith Formation Team! For further information regarding
volunteer opportunities, please visit our website and click on the Faith Formation tab.
If you are unable to volunteer but would like to register your children in Faith Formation, Faith Formation
Registration for the 2015-2016 year is currently open for parishioners who are actively giving of time, talent
