Τα διαφανή τελειώματα επιτρέπουν να φαινέται η φυσική όψη του ξύλου ( τα νερά, το χρώμα το ξύλου) ενώ τα καλυπτικά
( opaque ) τελειώματα χρωματίζουν τελείως την επιφανεία κρατώντας μόνο τα νερά του ξύλου ορατά.
