Re: Docket No. 27376; Application of CPL Retail Energy, LP, To Increase Price To Beat Fuel Factors Dear Judge Kilgore: As a result of discussions with the Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas ("Staff") and the discovery of a single erroneous data entry, CPL Retail Energy, LP is filing revised Exhibits JPK-1 and JPK-2 to the prefiled direct testimony of J. Patrick Keene in the above referenced docket. The revisions affect the: fifth and sixth decimal places of the proposed fuel factors filed on February 11, 2003. The revision is necessary to correct the calculation of the natural gas prices that were used to calculate the price to beat fuel factors that are currently in effect for CPL Retail Energy, LP Also being filed today is an updated affidavit that should be substituted for the one initially filed with Mr. Keene's direct testimony. Finally, CPL Retail Energy, LP is filing updated notices. These notices are the ones that are being published in the relevant newspapers and incorporate suggestions from the Staff. If approved, the filing will establish new fuel factors for CPL Retail Energy, LP to include in its Price to Beat charges for residential and small commercial customers. The proposed fuel factors represent a 35.0% increase over the current fuel factors. For a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt hours (“kwh”) per month, the total electric bill would increase approximately $14.04 per month. For a small commercial customer using 2,500 kWh per month, the total electric bill would increase by approximately $37.94 per month.
