Dear parishioners,
This last Sunday was our parish Fiesta. We had rain. We were very worried about the weather, but
all of you were here. Nobody complained, many of us were praying “Please Lord, no rain today, we
need a good day”, and in despite of rain, we were packed! Many people attended our Parish
Fiesta, but most importantly, all the people who serve at this parish were here from the beginning
until the end.
I would like to thank all the people who made our Fiesta a success. We can’t talk about the most
important person in this event; we can talk about all the people who make us one body in Christ.
When someone asks about being in charge of something people often say, “I’m not ready”.
However Eva Rodriguez, the person in charge of the Fiesta organization, didn’t say it. She put all her time, talent and
treasure to the service of her Church, Sacred Heart; Santiago Cardenas organized the music, Ron Sparks set up the
place with lighting, tents, etc. Youth groups were in charge of the games; parishioners in charge of the carnival, sweet
shop, treasure spin, pony, face painting, parking lots, cleaning facilities, participants of the Raffle and Raffle contest,
people selling and counting the tickets and all the people in charge of the delicious food, food, food, and more food
booths. And the Boy Scouts who picked up recycled trash all day.
We all should be proud of our parish community. The financial results are still being tabulated. Preliminary results
indicate that despite of the rain, our parish fiesta gained for the parish close to $50,000 after expenses (similar to the
results last year of $52,000). Thank you one and all!

Queridos parroquianos,
El Domingo pasado fue nuestra Fiesta Parroquial. Tuvimos lluvia. Estabamos muy preocupados acerca del estado del
tiempo, sin embargo todos ustedes estuvieron aqui. Nadie se quejo, muchos de nosotros estabamos rezando “Por
favor Señor, que no llueva hoy, necesitamos un buen dia”, y a pesar de la lluvia estuvimos llenos! Mucha gente asistio
a nuestra Fiesta Parroquial, pero lo mas importante, toda la comunidad que sirve a esta parroquia estuvieron aqui
desde el principio hasta el fin.
Me gustaria agradecer a todas las personas que hicieron que nuestra Fiesta fuera un exito. No podemos hablar de
quien fue la persona mas importante en este evento; podemos hablar de todas las personas que juntas hicieron un solo
cuerpo en Cristo.
Cuando alguien nos pregunta que nos hagamos cargo de algun evento, la gente frecuentemente dice, “no estoy
preparado”, sin embargo Eva Rodriguez, la persona a cargo de coordinar la Fiesta Parroquial no lo dijo. Ella puso su
Tiempo, Talento y Tesoro al servicio de su Iglesia Sagrado Corazon; Santiago Cardenas organizo la musica; Ron
Sparks puso los puestos de comida, luces, etc. los jovenes a cargo de los juegos; parroquianos a cargo de los juegos
mecanicos, venta de pasteles, tombola, pony, pintando caritas, dirigiendo trafico en los estacionamientos, limpiando
basura, a todos los participantes de la Rifa y del Concurso, personas vendiendo y contando los boletos y toda esa
maravillosa gente a cargo de los puestos donde vendieron deliciosa comida, comida y mas comida. Y los Boy Scouts
que recogieron basura y reciclaje todo el dia.
Todos debemos estar orgullosos de nuestra comunidad parroquial. Los resultados financieros aun estan siendo
contabilizados. Preliminarmente los resultados indican que a pesar de la lluvia, nuestra Fiesta Parroquial gano para la
parroquia cerca de $50,000 despues de gastos (similar al resultado del año pasado de $52,000). Gracias a todos y
cada uno de ustedes!
