a partnership of the Los Angeles Department of
Transportation and the Los Angeles Unified
School District.

activated by people at uncontrolled
intersections or mid-block crossings on
multi-lane, high volume roads.

*Between Menlo Ave and Hoover St
Bike boxes are green colored areas at the head
of a signalized intersection. The box provides
bicyclists with a safe and visible way to get
ahead of vehicle traffic when the traffic light is
red.

vehículos.

Mejoramientos para la seguridad del
trafico seran implementados en los
vecindarios que rodean las Escuelas
Primarias Menlo Avenue y West Vernon
Avenue. Este proyecto creara una red de
“calles amigables del vecindario”, la cual
ayudara a mejorar, ambas la seguridad y
comodidad de estudiantes y familias que
caminan y montan bicicleta, yendo a, y
viniendo de la escuela.

Curb Extensions
Extensión de banqueta en Intersecciones son
instalados en intersecciones a mitad de dos
intersecciones para minimizar la distancia que
tenga que cruzar los peatones. Esto ayuda a los
motoristas identificar los peatones con tiempo.
El proyecto es financiado por una subvencion
de $4.7 millones, del Programa de Transporte
Activo del Departamento del Tranporte de
California. La construccion comenzara en la
primavera del 2017.
