The Washington State Department of Early Learning (DEL)
has a new training opportunity for early learning
professionals! Complete the new Safe Sleep training and earn
one STARS hour for free!
What information does the training cover?
During this training, you will learn about:

Guidelines for providing a safe sleep environments for infants.
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and what you can do to reduce the risk of SIDS.
Recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics regarding safe sleep
environments.
Resources are included to print and share.
How do I get started?
The safe sleep training that can be accessed online at http://deltraining.com/
1. Create an account and log in by completing the registration information.
2. Click on the Course Catalog which will take you to Annual Continuing Education Courses
(STARS Classes)
3. Use the drop down box to locate the Safe Sleep training and get started.
Once you successfully complete this training, DEL staff will enter one STARS hour in your MERIT
professional record to count towards your annual continuing education.
