El 5 de Enero el Spanish Business Council junto con Españolas en Qatar, celebraron el día de los Reyes Magos
para las familias Españolas.
En esta ocasión los tres Reyes Magos, Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar, también conocidos como Los Reyes de Oriente,
estuvieron presentes para hablar con los más pequeños y hacerles entrega de algún regalo.
Queremos agradecer a todos los asistentes su participación en este evento, en la cual los niños fueron los principales
protagonistas. Más de 150 personas asistieron a este evento que tuvo lugar en el Diplomatic Club.
On February 5th, the Spanish Business Council, in association with the Spanish Ladies in Qatar, organized
the Three Wise Men day for the Spanish Families.
On this occasion, the Three Wise Men, Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar, also known as the Three Magi from the East,
were present to talk with the children and to deliver some presents.
We would like to thank all who attended this event, where the children were the main focus. The event took
place at Diplomatic Club and more than 150 people attended.

AH ASOCIADOS AWARDED TO PERFORM
INTERIOR DESIGN HOTEL IBIS & ADAGIO
La empresa de arquitectura española ah asociados ha sido seleccionada para desarrollar el diseño interior del
hotel Ibis & Adagio.
El hotel pertenece a la cadena internacional de hoteles “Accor Hoteles”. Es el primero de su clase en Doha
y su interior ha sido totalmente diseñado siguiendo los requisitos del operador.
El diseño del edificio también se llevó a cabo por ah asociados, consiste en un hotel de tres estrellas situado en
el corazón de Doha, que conecta el principal distrito de negocios de Doha, con el aeropuerto y el Corniche.
Este es un edificio emblemático de la zona, con vistas panorámicas desde diversos puntos de la ciudad.
Con siete plantas, el hotel dispone de ciento cincuenta habitaciones y el mismo número de apartamentos,
con espacios comunes con un restaurante, una cafetería y áreas comerciales.
El hotel, propiedad del grupo “qatar horizon” está actualmente en construcción por la constructora
y “Al Bandary engineering & contracting company” y la apertura está prevista para principios de 2017.

The Spanish Architectural company ah asociados has been selected to develop the interior design of the hotel Ibis & Adagio.
The hotel belongs to the international chain of hotels “Accor hotels”. It is the first of its kind in Doha and has been fully interior
designed following the operator requirements.
The design of the building was also carried out by ah asociados, consists in an upcoming three - star hotel located in the heart
of Doha, which is connecting Doha’s main business district, with the airport and the Corniche.
This is an iconic building for the area, with panoramic views from various parts of the city. With seven floors, the hotel has one
hundred and fifty bedrooms and the same number of apartments, with common spaces with a restaurant, a café and retail
areas. Sports and business zones are also included.
The hotel, owned by the group “qatar horizon” is currently under construction, by Al Bandary engineering & contracting
company and the opening is scheduled for early 2017.

El pasado 13 de enero el SBC organizó un networking con la asociación empresarial de Astralia y Nueva Zelanda.
El evento, durante el cual se pudo degustar una variedad de tapas españolas, tuvo lugar en el Restaurante
“Aceite” en el Hotel Melia Doha. A dicho evento asistieron más de 40 personas.
On January 13th the SBC organized a networking event with the Qatar Australia and New Zealand Business Association
in Doha.
During the event, the attendees took part in networking where they could taste diferent kind of “spanish tapas”.
The event took place at “Aceite” Restaurant at Melia Doha Hotel and more than 40 people attended.

Harinsa Qatar starts construction
of Majlis Grand Mercure Hotel in Doha
Harinsa Qatar ha comenzado la construcción de un Hotel de cinco estrellas y residencias de gran nivel en 2 parcelas de
Bin Mahmoud Area, Doha, Qatar.
El proyecto se conocería como Majlis Grand Mercure y es propiedad de Al Jassim Group, uno de los principales
grupos empresariales en Qatar. Su desarrollo proporcionará un diseño emblemático a lo largo de la calle
Suhaim Bin Hamad. Residencias de lujo y restaurantes de alto nivel y prestigio internacional que agregarían
un valor significativo para contribuir a la remodelación de la calle Suhaim Bin Hamad.
La promoción consta de tres edificios, dos en la Parcela 1 y uno en la parcela 2, con un área construida de aproximadamente
50.000m2 que incluye habitaciones de hotel, suites y apartamentos, locales comerciales, restaurantes, salón de baile,
salas de reuniones, además de unas modernas instalaciones de spa y gimnasio con acceso a parking de superficie
y subterráneo.
La Parcela Uno es de 4435m2 e incluye la torre del hotel (Edificio 1) y un edificio de apartamentos (Edificio 2),
mientras que la Parcela Dos tiene una licencia urbanística por separado, concedida en el momento de la
construcción de la torre de oficinas existente e incluye otro edificio de apartamentos (Edificio 3).
Harinsa Qatar has started construction of Five star lifestyle hotel and luxury residences on 2 plots in Bin Mahmoud Area,
Doha, Qatar.
The project will be branded as Majlis Grand Mercure and is owned by Al Jassim Group, one of the leading business groups
in Qatar. The development will provide an iconic design along Suhaim Bin Hamad Street with luxury residences
and high end internationally reputed signature restaurants that would add significant value in contributing towards
the redevelopment of Suhaim Bin Hamad Street.
The development consists of 3 buildings, 2 on Plot One and 1 on Plot Two with a total built up area of approximately
50,000m2 which includes hotel guest rooms, suites and serviced apartments, retail space, restaurants, ballroom, meeting
rooms, along with a state-of-the-art spa and fitness centre with associated above and below ground car Parking facilities.
Plot One is 4435m2 and includes the hotel tower (Building 1) and the serviced apartments building (Building 2)
whereas Plot Two has a separate planning consent granted at the time of the existing office tower construction
and includes another serviced apartments building (Building 3).

The SBC organized a visit to the Ministry
of Youth and Sports for its members
El pasado 18 de Enero el SBC organizó una visita al Ministerio de Juventud y Deporte para sus socios.
Dicho ministerio es el encargado de permitir a los jóvenes desarrollar y mejorar sus capacidades, reconociendo el rol
que ellos tienen en la construcción de una nación y a su vez supervisa y mejora las normas deportivas del Estado,
hace un seguimiento de sus actividades y las coordina entre ellas, esto implica la concesión de licencias
y condiciones de los establecimiento para las de aperturas de los clubes deportivos, centros y asociaciones.
Además de esto, el Ministerio se encarga de organizar la participación de la juventud de Qatar en torneos locales,
árabes e internacionales, conferencias, concursos, campamentos, viajes, y festivales; permitiendo crecer a la persona
que destaca por su talento participando en la organización de eventos y actividades deportivas nacionales.
El evento, al cual asistieron 15 personas, tuvo lugar en el edificio de QOC/MOYS en West Bay.
On January 18th, the SBC organized a visit to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its members.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports is in charge of enabling the younger generation, and to enhance their capabilities
and recognize the role they play in nation building. It also oversees improving the State’s sports standards to reach
levels of excellence. This involves overseeing the bodies in charge of youth and sports affairs in the State;
supporting these bodies, monitoring their activities and coordinating among them; licensing and setting conditions
for setting up of youth and sports clubs, centers, and associations.
In addition to this, the Ministry is responsible for organizing participation of Qatari youth in local, Arab, and international
conferences, tournaments, competitions, camps, journeys, and festivals; grooming the talented and outstanding amongst
them; and participating in organization of national sports events and activities.
The event was held at QOC/MOYS tower, West Bay and 15 people attended.

El pasado 25 de enero, tuvo lugar un desayuno para los socios del SBC, durante el cual se habló
de los futuros eventos a organizar durante los próximos meses y los socios asistentes aprovecharon para
poner en relieve sus inquietudes y prioridades necesarias para su desarrollo en el mercado local.
Al finalizar el desayuno los socios más recientes del SBC tuvieron la oportunidad de hacer una breve presentación
de su empresa al resto de asistentes.
El evento tuvo lugar en el Hotel Marriott Marquis y contó con la asistencia de 32 socios.
On January 25th, a SBC member’s breakfast took place, during this event members discussed the future events
to organize in the coming months and they had the chance to talk about their concerns and priorities
necessary for development in the local market.
At the end of the breakfast the most recent members had the opportunity to make a short introduction of their
companies to the attendees.
The event took place at Marriott Marquis Hotel and 32 members attended.
