3.4
Los estudiantes de posgrado podrán realizar una estancia por un mínimo
de un (1) semestre o por un máximo de un (1) año académico; o si la
estancia es de investigación, podrá ser por un periodo más corto,
normalmente por dos o tres (2-3) meses.
3.5
Los estudiantes de investigación (de prácticas o internados) que no estén
inscritos para recibir créditos, deberán contar con apoyo por escrito del
Profesor supervisor y del Jefe del Departamento de la institución
receptora. La institución receptora no estará obligada a ofrecer
financiamiento, pero deberá aceptar por escrito el proyecto y el periodo
de la estancia.
3.6
Todos los estudiantes deberán obtener la aprobación por parte de la
institución de origen del plan de estudios que pretenden realizar en la
institución receptora.
3.7
Los estudiantes serán responsables de todos los gastos de transporte y
de manutención (alojamiento y alimentación, libros, artículos de
papelería, costos incidentales) en el país anfitrión, y deberán contar con
un seguro médico de cobertura amplia y otro seguro apropiado según
sea requerido. En medida de lo posible, la oficina coordinadora de la
movilidad estudiantil ofrecerá asesoría a los estudiantes visitantes o les
remitirá al organismo institucional o privado apropiado. De ninguna
forma, la institución receptora será responsable de proporcionar
financia miento a un estudiante de internado, intercambio o visitante.
3.8
En ningún momento, los créditos obtenidos o trabajos completados por
los estudiantes en la institución receptora, podrán ser considerados para
la obtención de un grado o un programa que ofrezca la institución
receptora o a través de ella. Todos los créditos obtenidos durante el
intercambio en la institución receptora serán considerados aplicables
exclusivamente al programa académico en la institución de origen.
4. Coordinación del Convenio
Por la UDEG, la oficina de coordinación será la Coordinación General de
Cooperación e Internacionalización (CGCI). Por Concordia, será la Office of
Concordia International.
5. Renovación, Revisión y Terminación
Este convenio tendrá vigencia de tres (3) años a partir de la fecha última de su
firma. Sujeto a notificación por escrito, este convenio podrá ser renovado como
se expresa actualmente por periodos consecutivos de tres (3) años, revisado
por consentimiento mutuo, o terminado dentro de un periodo de seis (6) rnt;~~~

On the basis of mutual understanding and desiring to cooperate in education and
research, Universidad de Guadalajara ("UDEG") and Concordia University ("Concordia"),
have reached this Agreement of Academic Cooperation.
1. Principies of Academic Cooperation
UDEG and Concordia agree that the following principies governing their relationship
are fundamental to their successful academic cooperation;
1.1.
It should be mutually beneficial;
1.2.
It should be based on friendly, frank and frequent communications;
1.3.
80th parties enter into this agreement on the basis of common interest, trust
and the intention to provide fair treatment to all participants.
1.4.
Cooperation will be university-wide, with emphasis being given to Hispanic
Studies.
2. Promotion of Collaborative Research and Exchange of Faculty
UDEG and Concordia will seek to encourage the development of joint educational
and research efforts, periodically designating areas for specific collaboration. 80th
institutions agree to seek financial support for any cooperative activities or
initiatives.
2.1.
80th partners agree they may invite faculty members from either institution
to engage in research and to offer specialized lectures. UDEG and Concordia
will consider each request on an individual basis, and decisions shall be
dependent on the availability of funding.
2.2.
80th institutions will provide library access to and assist visiting faculty
whenever possible with arranging accommodations and with other essential
university matters.
2.3.
The visiting faculty member must carry comprehensive health insurance that
meets the requirements of the host country and/or the host university,
whichever entity sets forth the higher standard.
2.4.
One-to-one faculty exchange for a full semester or academic year will be
discussed during the first year of the agreement, and appropriate amendment
will be made to address the modalities of this activity if it is to take place.
3. Student Exchange Programs
Concordia and UDEG may nominate students (undergraduate, graduate, or a
combination of both) for exchange. The host institution will reserve the right to
make final judgments on the admissibility of each student nominated for the
exchange in accordance with its standard practices and availability of spaces. Each
institution will inform the other of any restricted programs on a yearly basis.
The academic extension programs of the UDEG offered by its university enterprises,
the Centro de Estudios para Extranjeros (CEPE) and the Sistema Corporativo
PROULEX- COMLEXare not included in this agreement.
3.1.
Concordia and UDEG will exchange two (2) undergraduate/graduate
student(s) per semester, or a total of four (4) per year. A student staying for
two (2) semesters will count for two (2) student places. The number of
students exchanged may not necessarily balance in any given academic year.
UDEG and Concordia will endeavor to ensure that the total number of
students participating in the exchange program shall be in equilibrium over an
agreed three (3) year periodo Visiting students in excess of the agreed number
may attend the host institution on a fee-paying basis.
3.2.
Exchange students shall remain registered and pay tuition and fees to their
home institution. Exchange students shall not be charged for application,
tuition or related fees by the host institution. However, special fees for
specified programs may be charged to exchange students with prior written
notice to the sending institution. The hosting institution will advise the
student and home university of any such programs.
3.3.
Undergraduate student exchanges shall be for a minimum of one (1) semester
or a maximum of one (1) regular academic year which equates to two (2)
semesters.
3.4.
Graduate students may study for a minimum of one (1) semester or a
maximum of one (1) academic year; or they may engage in research for a
shorter period of time, normally two to three (2-3) months.
3.5.
Research students (stagiaires or interns) not registered for credit must have
written support of the supervising Professor and the Department Chair of the
hosting institution. The hosting institution is not obliged to offer funding, but
must accept in writing the project and term of residency.
3.6.
AII students must obtain from their home institution written approval of the
program of courses they intend to follow at the host institution.
3.7.
Students shall assume all transportation costs and living expenses (room and
board, books, stationery, incidental costs) in the host country, and must carry
comprehensive health and other appropriate insurance. Whenever possible
the coordinating unit for student mobility will offer assistance or refer the
visiting students to the appropriate institutional or private organismo The host
institution bears no obligation to provide funding to an intern, exchange, or
visiting student for any purpose or circumstance.
3.8.
AII credits or academic work completed at the host institution may not, at a
later date, be credited to a degree or program offered by or through that host
institution. AII credits earned while on exchange at the host institution will be
considered applicable exclusively to the degree program at the home
University.
4. Coordination of the Agreement
For UDEG, the coordinator will be the General Coordination for Cooperation and
Internationalization
(CGCI). For Concordia it will be the Office of Concordia
Internationa 1.
5. Prolongation, Revision or Termination
This agreement will be in effect for three (3) years from the latest date of signing.
Subject to written notification, this agreement may be renewed as presently stated
for consecutive three (3) year periods, revised by mutual consent or terminated
within six (6) months of either party offering such notification.
In this case, the
students who have been accepted by the parties will not be affected and will be
permitted to conclude their studies, respecting all the c1ausesof this agreement.
6. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement which cannot be
resolved by amicable discussions between the administering offices shall be jointly
referred to the President of UDEGand the President of Concordia or their nominees,
for resolution.
7. Agreed and Signed
The parties state that the signing of the current agreement and the commitments
contained therein, are made in good faith and, therefore they will undertake all
actions necessary for its proper execution; any discrepancy in the interpretation of
the agreement will be resolved by common accord.
Having read this document, both institutions being aware of the contents and extent
of each c1auseand affirming that there is no deceit, reticence, or any other reason
that might corrupt its approval, both institutions sign in duplicate in English and
Spanish, both versions with the same content and validity.
