The future tense is used: 1. to indicate an event that will take place in the future. El año próximo iremos a los Andes. We are going to the Andes next year. 2. As long as María plays well, she will continue playing for the team. Mientras (while)+ indicative Mientras yo busco información, tú puedes corregir lo que hicimos ayer. THE SUBJUNCTIVE IN RELATIVE CLAUSES (pag. 197) We use the subjunctive when: 1- the dependent clause refers to an antecedent (person, place, or thing) which may not exist or may not be found. Some important ones are: donde + subj----------dondequiera que + subj (wherever) adonde + subj ---------adondequiera que + subj (to wherever) como (however)-----------------comoquiera que cuando---------cuandoquiera que(whenever) quien-------------------quienquiera que(whoever) These compounds are followed: -- by ___SUBJUNTIVO_____ if the event has or had not yet occurred (algo en el futuro) and Te sentirás muy bien donde vayas (subjunctive) en la escuela.
