"If you build it . . ."
Build Our Church contributions and pledges continue to be collected. We sincerely appreciate the sacrifice that you are making on behalf of the future of
St. Henry Catholic Church. Last week, the Diocese of Phoenix Finance Council reiterated that if we are to obtain the necessary $1.2 million loan for our
new parish project, that we would first need to raise a minimum of $1 million in
cash. We are getting so close – only another $250,000 to go! If there was ever
a time to get the word out about our new church, the time is now! If you haven't turned in your pledge card and made your initial offering, PLEASE do so
soon. If you have pledged, you can begin fulfilling your pledge early. If you still
have friends & family members to contact, seeking their generous support,
please consider doing so during this advent season. If you can increase your
pledge, God bless you. If you win the lottery, I'll drive you to pick up your
check and be your bodyguard! I repeat to you now the blessing spoken by
King David to his son Solomon: "The Lord be with you, and may you have
success and build the house of the Lord your God." [1 Chronicles 22:11]

West Valley Advent Confessions
There will be 3 confession services in the West Valley this advent for
those wishing an opportunity to confess. All begins at 6:30p.m., Monday
November 28 at Blessed Sacrament in Tolleson; Tuesday December 13 at
St. Thomas in Avondale; Thursday. December 15 at St. John Vianney in
Goodyear.
A Christmas Gift for our Local Sisters
We mustn't forget that we have a convent of religious sisters living in our
parish boundaries, the Poor Clare nuns of Perpetual Adoration who are
living in their Tonopah monastery. It would be thoughtful of us, their local
parish, to bring them a gift this Christmas. If you feel so inclined, would
you consider picking up something simple and useful that we could give
them? A drop-off box will be available after Masses the next 3 weekends.
You can also bring items to the office. We thought the nuns would appreciate a basket of simple inexpensive items that can be easily found during
regular shopping. Bring them unwrapped – the St. Henry Women of Solitude will do the gift wrapping and delivery. Consider the following:

a case of bottled water, cough drops, laundry detergent, women's gardening gloves, M&Ms, a pack of gum, disposable razors, toothpaste and dental floss, postage stamps, coffee, paper towels, a pack of greeting/thank
you cards, a scented glass candle, gift cards to grocery, department, &
hardware stores, gas stations, etc., or whatever you think they would
need/use/appreciate.

Perspectiva del Párroco
“Si tu lo construyes . . .”
Las contribuciones y promesas para Construir Nuestra Iglesia continúan
colectándose. Sinceramente apreciamos el sacrificio que esta haciendo a
favor de nuestra futura Iglesia Católica de San Enrique. La semana pasada, el
Consejo de Finanzas de la Diócesis de Phoenix nos reiteraron que si queremos obtener el préstamo necesario de $1.2 millones para nuestro proyecto
parroquial, necesitamos primero recaudar el mínimo $1 millón en efectivo.
¡Estamos tan cerca — solo nos faltan otros $250,000! ¡Si alguna vez necesitamos publicar sobre nuestra nueva parroquia, ahora es el tiempo! Si no ha
llenado y devuelto su tarjeta con su compromiso, POR FAVOR hágalo pronto.
Si ya hizo su promesa, puede comenzar a dar su donación temprano. Si aún
tiene familiares y amistades a quien no les ha sugerido una donación, por
favor considere hacerlo en este tiempo de Adviento. Si usted puede aumentar
su promesa, Dios le bendiga. ¡Si se gana la lotería, yo lo llevo a levantar su

Confesiones en Adviento en el Área Oeste
Habrá 3 servicios de confesión en el Valle del Oeste en este tiempo de
adviento para quienes desean la confesión. Todas comienzan a las
6:30p.m. Lunes noviembre 28, Santísimo Sacramento en Tolleson; martes
Diciembre 13, Santo Tomas de Aquinas en Avondale; jueves diciembre 15
en San Juan Vianney en Goodyear.
Un Regalo de Navidad Para Nuestras Monjas Locales
No debemos olvidar que tenemos un convento de hermanas religiosas viviendo en la guarda raya parroquial, las Clarisas Pobres de Adoración Perpetua
quienes viven en su monasterio en Tonopah. Seria bueno que nosotros, su
parroquia local, les llevaramos un regalo esta navidad. ¿Si le parece la idea,
consideraría comprar algo sencillo y útil para darle a ellas? Habrá una caja
disponible después de cada Misa por las siguientes 3 semanas. También
puede llevarlas a la oficina. Pensamos que las hermanas apreciarían una canasta sencilla de artículos que muy fácilmente podría encontrar durante sus
compras regulares. Llévelas sin envolver – las mujeres de nuestra Señora de
la Soledad las envolverán y llevaran. Considere lo siguiente: caja de agua
embotellada, pastillas para la tos, detergente para lavar, guantes de jardinería
de mujer, chocolates M&Ms, paquete de chicles, rastrillos desechables, pasta
e hilo dental, estampillas de correo, café, toallas de papel, paquetes de tarjetas para saludos/tarjetas de agradecimiento, veladoras aromatizantes, tarjetas
de regalo para comida, tiendas de departamento & ferretería, gasolineras,
etc., o lo que usted crea que puedan necesitar/usar/agradecer.
Pondremos todo en una canasta navideña, la dejaremos en su puerta, tocaremos el timbre y correremos como . . . duendes.
