En 1922 un pintor granadino reunió varios talleres dedicados a la fabricación
artesanal de alfombras en el barrio más emblemático de Granada, el Albaicín, y fundó
Alpujarreña, el origen de Alp. Esta iniciativa nacía como una síntesis entre la calidad del
trabajo manual, avalada por una larga tradición, y la apuesta por el diseño
y la creatividad. Desde entonces hemos plasmado en nuestras alfombras diseños de
Eileen Gray, Juan Gris, Álvaro Siza, Óscar Tusquets, Javier Mariscal, Federico García
Lorca, Guillermo Pérez Villalta, Gordillo, Alcaín, José Guerrero, Alessandro Mendini,
Frank Lloyd Wright, Piet Mondrian, Kandinsky, y un largo etcétera. Estas realizaciones
están presentes en prestigiosos espacios públicos, en edificios corporativos
de empresas y organismos, y en residencias privadas.
Alp, un proyecto desarrollado en colaboración con Liévore Altherr Molina, conserva la
esencia de Alpujarreña, su compromiso con la calidad, el servicio, la versatilidad
y el buen diseño. Evolucionamos para acercar nuestro trabajo a un lenguaje
más actual; pero no renunciamos a nuestras señas de identidad, las que nos
han definido a lo largo de todos estos años.
In 1922, Granadian painter José Pérez Ortiz brought together various workshops dedicated
to the handmade production of carpets in Granada’s most emblematic neighbourhood,
Albaicín, and founded Alpujarreña, the origin of Alp.This initiative was born as a synthesis
between the quality of manual work, endorsed by a long tradition, and a focus on design
and creativity. Since then our carpets have incorporated designs by Eileen Gray, Juan Gris,
Álvaro Siza, Óscar Tusquets, Javier Mariscal, Federico García Lorca, Guillermo Pérez Villalta,
Gordillo, Alcaín, José Guerrero, Alessandro Mendini, Frank Lloyd Wright, Piet Mondrian,
Kandinsky, and a long etcetera.These creations are present in prestigious public spaces,
in the corporate buildings of companies and organizations, and in private residences.
Alp, a project developed in collaboration with Liévore Altherr Molina,
conserves the essence of Alpujarreña, its commitment to quality, service, versatility
and great design.We evolve to align our work with a more modern language but we
never renounce the hallmarks that have defined us throughout the years.

Sólo fabricamos en nuestros telares de La Zubia (Granada, España), siguiendo
un proceso estrictamente artesanal, e implicados en la conservación de nuestro
entorno en todas las fases de la producción. Empleamos materiales respetuosos con
el medio ambiente, hasta el punto que más del 95% de nuestros productos
manufacturados es biodegradable o reciclable.
Nuestra responsabilidad medioambiental también se refleja en los materiales que
utilizamos, 100% naturales, con trazabilidad y origen certificado; y en la gestión de los
tintes que empleamos, controlada en todas sus fases para evitar cualquier impacto
en el medio ambiente.
We only manufacture in our textile mills in La Zubia (Granada, Spain), following
a strictly handmade process and we are dedicated to conserving the environment at every
phase of production.We use environmentally friendly materials to such an extent that
over 95% of the products we manufacture are biodegradable or recyclable.
Our environmental responsibility is also reflected in the materials we use, 100% natural,
with traceability and certified origin, and in the application of the dyes that we use,
controlled at every stage to prevent any negative impact on the environment.

las necesidades y las decisiones de cada cliente. Entendemos nuestro trabajo como
algo completamente alejado de la producción en masa, porque queremos
que los objetos sigan manteniendo su valor y trascendencia, su utilidad,
y, por encima de todo, su belleza.
Carpets have accompanied people since time immemorial.
They have helped us to define our social space, to improve acoustics, to raise our quality
of living, or to simply embellish our surroundings. Alp makes its carpets and rugs
from this entirely human and essential perspective, in search of maximum versatility.
Alp produces unique pieces, which are handmade to fit any space and come in
a wide range of colours, finishes and textures; aligning them to the personality, needs
and decisions of each client.We perceive our work as a complete process and a far cry from
mass production, because we believe that objects should maintain their value
and transcendence, their usefulness, and above all their beauty.

Unpack the carpet, removing the plastic packaging. It’s important that the fibres are aired so that they
acquire their optimum touch and height. Remember that once removed, plastic packaging should be
placed in the corresponding recycling container.

Cuando recibas la alfombra comprueba que se trata del modelo que habías solicitado
en todos los detalles (color, medidas...) y que no ha sufrido daño alguno durante
el transporte. Si el embalaje está dañado y la alfombra se ha visto afectada de alguna
manera, hazlo constar en el albarán de entrega. Si aprecias cualquier anomalía te rogamos
que la comuniques inmediatamente al distribuidor.

Es muy importante impedir que el polvo y las partículas de suciedad se acumulen
en la alfombra. Por eso te recomendamos que pases la aspiradora regularmente,
en especial en las zonas de paso. Ten en cuenta que cuando pisamos una alfombra
provocamos que las partículas de suciedad penetren más profundamente en la felpa,
haciendo más difícil su extracción y provocando un desgaste prematuro de las fibras.
Un buen aspirado evitará que esto ocurra.

It is very important to prevent dust and dirt particles from accumulating in the carpet.
We therefore recommend that you vacuum the carpet regularly, especially in well-trodden areas.
Bear in mind that when we step on a carpet, dirt particles become ingrained in the pile, making their
extraction more difficult and provoking premature wear and tear of the fibres. Thorough vacuuming
can prevent this from occurring.
Un buen aspirado consiste en:
a. Pasar la aspiradora siguiendo el sentido de la felpa, nunca en sentido contrario.
b. Usar siempre una boquilla sin cepillo, así evitaremos que las fibras se deshilachen.
c. Evitar los cepillos motorizados, son muy perjudiciales para la alfombra.
d. Utilizar siempre una potencia de aspiración alta, capaz de extraer la suciedad
de entre las fibras. La baja potencia solo eliminará las partículas situadas en la superficie y
la limpieza no será completa.

Es perfectamente normal que las alfombras de pelo cortado desprendan pequeñas fibras
durante algún tiempo, incluso formando borras o pelusas. Esto se debe a que algunas
fibras han quedado sueltas, sin torsión, al realizar el corte del hilo. Pasado algún tiempo,
después de sucesivas aspiraciones, el fenómeno desparecerá.
Sobre todo, no intentes desprender estas fibras manualmente o utilizando cepillos,
podrías dañar la alfombra.

Eventualmente pueden despuntar algunos cabos de fibra sobre la superficie de la
alfombra. En este caso NO debes tirar de ellos, debes cortarlos con unas tijeras
a la altura del resto de la felpa. Estos cabos aparecen por causa del uso y de la aspiración,
son una consecuencia de las fibras que han quedado retorcidas dentro de la felpa
durante el tundido de la alfombra y que con el uso pueden despuntar.

Si un cigarrillo cae sobre la alfombra producirá una pequeña quemadura. La marca
puede eliminarse cepillándola o incluso raspándola suavemente.

Thorough vacuuming consists of:
a. Passing the vacuum cleaner across the carpet following the direction of the pile but never against it.
b. Always using a vacuum nozzle without a brush, to prevent fibres from coming loose.
c. Avoiding the use of motorized brushes, as they are harmful to the carpet.
d. Always using a high vacuuming setting, suitable for extracting dirt from between the fibres.
Low settings will only eliminate the particles on the surface rendering the cleaning incomplete.

It is perfectly normal for cut pile carpets to shed small fibres over the course of time, which form sediments or fuzz.This is due to fibres that have remained loose, without twisting when the threads were
cut.With time and frequent vacuuming, this will cease.
Do not attempt to remove these fibres manually or using brushes as this may damage the carpet.

Over time, some loose ends may appear on the surface of the carpet. In this case you should NOT pull
them but trim them to the same length as the rest of the pile using scissors.These loose ends are the result
of use and vacuuming, and are caused by fibres that have remained twisted within the pile during the
clipping of the carpet and which can emerge through use.

If a cigarette falls onto the carpet it can produce a small burn.The mark can be removed through
brushing or light scraping.

Carpets are rolled with a certain pressure to best withstand transportation, but small creases or folds are
sometimes unavoidable.These will disappear within a few weeks once the carpet is unrolled.The use of
a vacuum cleaner will also help the fibres to recover their original shape.

que, a fin de evitar las manchas, aspires la alfombra frecuentemente y que actúes
con rapidez cuando algún líquido se derrame sobre su superficie.

Any liquid that is spilled on the carpet will trap dust particles found in the pile and will seal them on
the surface.Therefore, it’s essential in order to prevent stains, that you vacuum the carpet regularly
and act quickly when any liquid is spilled on the surface.

en la limpieza doméstica como lejías, limpiadores de óxidos, limpiadores de hornos...
son muy agresivos y pueden decolorar o dañar las fibras de tu alfombra.
El uso del amoniaco solo es recomendable cuando una pequeña cantidad se diluye
en agua abundante.

La regla de oro consiste en actuar con rapidez. Es esencial no dejar que la mancha
se seque antes de eliminarla. En primer lugar retira el exceso del producto derramado,
si es un sólido utiliza una cucharilla o la punta de un cuchillo, si es un líquido aplica una
servilleta de papel o un trapo limpio. Una vez retirado el sobrante sigue las siguientes
instrucciones:

and oven cleaners are very aggressive and can discolour or damage the fibres of your carpet.
The use of ammonia is only recommendable in small quantities when diluted
in plenty of water.

The golden rule is to act quickly. It’s vital not to let the stain dry before removing it.
The first step is removing the excess from the spillage: if it’s a solid, use a teaspoon or the tip of
a knife; if it’s a liquid apply a paper napkin or a clean cloth. Once the excess has been removed,
follow these instructions:

Aplica una esponja o una toalla humedecida en una solución de agua con jabón específico
para lana sobre la zona manchada y retira la humedad con un paño limpio
o una servilleta de papel. Repite la operación hasta que la mancha deje de desprender suciedad y desaparezca. Sobre todo no frotes la mancha, se extendería y dañaría una
superficie de felpa mucho mayor. Enjuaga la zona con un trapo limpio humedecido
en agua tibia y, finalmente, coloca un trapo grueso seco o una servilleta de papel sobre
el área presionando con un objeto pesado. Cambia la servilleta o el trapo una o dos veces
y luego deja que se seque.
b.
Para las manchas de grasa.
Empapa la esquina de una toalla con una pequeña cantidad de un producto
disolvente (alcohol, acetona, thinner...) y aplícalo sobre la zona manchada. No viertas
el disolvente directamente sobre la felpa, podrías dañar el soporte o el adhesivo
de la alfombra. Aplica el producto desde el exterior de la mancha hacia el interior,
así evitarás extenderla. Una vez eliminada la mancha seca las fibras con papel de cocina o,
incluso, con un secador de pelo. No olvides utilizar guantes para evitar
posibles irritaciones en la piel.
c.
Con algunas manchas es aconsejable probar primero en una pequeña zona de la mancha
empleando agua y jabón o disolvente para determinar que tratamiento
será el más adecuado.
d.
Recomendamos emplear siempre jabones o detergentes neutros
(no alcalinos o con un ph alto) para evitar que el color de la alfombra se vea afectado.
a.
For water-soluble stains.
Apply a sponge or damp towel dipped in a solution of water with soap specifically designated
for wool over the stained surface and remove the excess moisture with a clean cloth or paper napkin.
Repeat the procedure until the stain stops producing dirt and disappears. Under no circumstances
should you scrub the stain, as this will spread it and further damage the surface of the pile.
Rinse the surface with a clean cloth moistened in lukewarm water and place a thick dry cloth
or paper napkin over the area, pressing it down with a heavy object. Change the cloth or napkin
once or twice and then let the area fully dry.
b.
For oil-based stains
Moisten the corner of a towel with a small amount of dissolvent product (alcohol, acetone,
thinner...) and apply the towel to the stained area. Do not pour the dissolvent directly onto the
plush, as this could damage the carpet’s support or adhesive. Apply the product from the outer part
of the stain, inwards, to avoid spreading. Once the stain has been removed, dry the fibres with
kitchen towels or with a hair dryer. Don’t forget to use gloves to avoid possible skin irritations.
c.
Some stains require a patch test on a small area of the stain using water and soap or dissolvent in
order to determine the most suitable treatment.
d.
We recommend the use of soaps or neutral detergents (neither alkaline nor those with a high PH)
in order to avoid any alteration in the colour of the carpet.
e.
If you are unable to remove the stain using the methods we recommend, we suggest you contact
a professional carpet cleaner, who will provide the correct products and procedures with which to
clean your carpet.

En el mercado existen algunos productos que permiten una limpieza fácil
de la alfombra; pero te recomendamos que utilices una espuma seca o un champú de
buena calidad y que sigas las instrucciones del fabricante. Antes de proceder al lavado
aspira intensamente la alfombra. En algunos países es frecuente el uso de productos que
se presentan en forma de granulado compuesto por detergentes y pequeñas cantidades
de disolvente. Estos productos se esparcen uniformemente sobre la alfombra y actúan
disolviendo las manchas y absorbiendo la suciedad, una vez han cumplido su función
se aspiran. Si los utilizas asegurate de seguir escrupulosamente
las instrucciones del fabricante.
Various products exist on the market for easy cleaning of your carpet, but we recommend
using dry foam or a high quality shampoo in compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Before proceeding to wash the carpet, thoroughly vacuum it. In some countries, products
are available in granulated format, consisting of detergents and small quantities of dissolvent.
These products are scattered uniformly over the carpet and act by dissolving the stains and
absorbing the dirt. Once they’ve fulfilled their function, they are then vacuumed up. If you are
using such products, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions to the letter.

El sistema más aconsejable es el de inyección-extracción que realiza la pala de una
máquina que inyecta sobre la felpa de la alfombra chorros de solución jabonosa
y que simultáneamente aspira. Una vez ha terminado el proceso la máquina ha logrado
aspirar hasta el 90% de la humedad. Este sistema de inyección-extracción lo realizan
algunos profesionales de la limpieza de alfombras que disponen de la maquinaria
adecuada y en algunos casos puede realizarse a domicilio. Antes de proceder con
la limpieza recuerda que es muy importante aspirar intensamente la alfombra para extraer
la mayor cantidad posible de polvo y partículas de suciedad.
Después de limpiar la alfombra déjala orear hasta eliminar la humedad por completo
y evita pisarla. Nunca enrolles una alfombra húmeda porque las fibras se dañarían
irremediablemente.
