CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL YESO
Una de las fundamentales es la de su capacidad de aislamiento
térmico. Su coeficiente de penetración térmica (Que está en
función del coeficiente de conductividad térmica, del calor
específico y de la densidad), es muy bajo, similar al de
Los materiales considerados cálidos (Madera, corcho, etc.).
Otras de sus cualidades es la de que evita los fenómenos de
condensación superficial y la humectación de las habitaciones,
gracias a su poder de absorción del agua (Higroscopia). Su
estructura le permite a de mas acumular gran cantidad de agua
cuando la concentración de esta en el ambiente es alta, y
devolverla cuando este se reseca, consiguiendo mantener un
grado de humedad estable, por lo que es todo un regulador
natural.
En cuanto a su comportamiento ante el fuego, es de inercia
total, ya que es completamente incombustible (Clasificación
MO). Por otra parte no emana gases tóxicos, solo vapor de
agua, siendo esta cualidad la que le permite que la temperatura
del material no exceda de los 100 º C, durante cuatro horas.
Respecto a su comportamiento acústico, este es bueno, tanto
por su capacidad de absorción de los ruidos producidos por
impactos, como por la baja transmisión de los mismos, ya que
rompe la onda sonora impidiendo su progresión y avance.
Finalmente, no hay que perder de vista el hecho de que el
yeso es un material ecológico.
ATTRIBUTES OF THE PLASTER
One of the main attributes of this product it is its thermal isolation.
We have to realize that its degree of thermal penetration (which
is dependant on the density of the components), is very low,
similar to materials considered as warm (wood, cork, etc.)
Another of its attributes is the prevention of superficial
condensation and dampness within rooms, due to its power of
absorption of water (higroscopy). Its structure also allows it to
hold a large capacity of water, when it is highly concentrated
in the atmosphere, and return it when the atmosphere becomes
drier. Hence, plaster stabilizes the humidity of the area, acting
as a natural regulator.
A further characteristic is the fact that it is fire-resistant (MO
classified-highest degree of resistance against fire). The material
do not emanate toxic gases, only steam, and for this reason
it does not allow the material to exceed 100 º C for period of
up to 4 hours.

Regarding to the excellent sound proofing characteristics, it is
owed to its capacity to absorb sound produced from impact
and its low transmission levels, due to the material stops the
progressions of the sound waves.
Finally, the plaster is an ECOLOGICAL MATERIAL.
