The Conference
Since 1997, the Centro de Investigación en Contabilidad Social y Medioambiental (CICSMA)
<http://www.upo.es/cicsma/> promotes bi-annually this Conference, organised by Spanish Universities. Similar to
the CSEAR UK Summer School, the objective is to construct and augment a forum for the discussion and
promotion of research in social and environmental accounting. To this purpose, the Conference creates a space,
limited to a maximum of 60 participants, for the presentation of academic papers, doctoral projects in progress and
practical applications in the area, in order to discuss and improve with a view to future publication in a friendly,
supportive and relaxed atmosphere. The Seventh Spanish Conference on Social and Environmental Accounting
Research (Spanish CSEAR 2009) will be held on September 10-12, 2009 in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands)
<http://www.grancanaria.com/patronato_turismo>. The conference is being organised principally by the
Department of Financial Economics and Accounting at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
<http://www.ulpgc.es>. Without doubt, this event will facilitate the exchange of ideas and discussion of current
themes and augment networks of researchers and professionals from various universities, both national and
international.

Call for papers and doctoral projects
Abstracts, full or research-in-progress papers, and doctoral projects should be submitted by June 10, 2009 (NEW
