Johnson speaks about her book Lives in Ruins: Archaeologists and the Seductive Lure of Human Rubble. Lives in
Ruins is an absorbing and entertaining look at the lives of contemporary archaeologists. As she chases them through the
Mediterranean, the Caribbean and Machu Picchu, they share
stories we rarely read in history books; about slaves and Ice
Age hunters, Chinese women warriors and soldiers of the American Revolution,
children of the first century and mummies.
