NOTICE
Amendments to general rules applicable to general bonded warehouses, currency exchange houses,
credit unions and Regulated Multiple Purpose Finance Companies (Disposiciones de carácter
general aplicables a los almacenes generales de depósito, casas de cambio, uniones de crédito y
sociedades financieras de objeto múltiple reguladas, CUIFE)
On January 12, 2015, the Tax Department published in the Federal Official Gazette the “Amendments to
general rules applicable to general bonded warehouses, currency exchange houses, credit unions and
Regulated Multiple Purpose Finance Companies”, which, with a few exceptions, will become effective on
March 13, 2015 and contain the following highlights:
1) Articles 72, 73, 75 and 76 were amended, and articles 72 BIS, 72 BIS 1, 72 BIS 2, 72 BIS 3, 72
BIS 8 and 72 BIS 9 were added, so as to establish the set of rules which will apply to regulated
Multiple Purpose Financial Institution, or Sociedades Financieras de Objeto Múltiple
(“SOFOM”).
2) Chapter I BIS was added in order to refer to Multiple Purpose Finance Companies, which will be
considered as regulated by choice.
3) Articles 72 BIS 6 and 72 BIS 7 were added in order to set forth the Regulated Multiple
Purpose Finance Companies’ obligations to report on information related to (i) the sale of its
shares; (ii) members of the board of directors; and (iii) the CEO.
