ADVENTURE IS THE TIME OF GREAT PERSONALITIES ...
We have already started this time of waiting and there are four great characters of this era. In the Old
Testament, we have the prophet Isaiah. In the New Testament we have John the Baptist, St. Joseph
and the Virgin Mary.
The prophet Isaiah is the great teacher of this time. It should be read with a great inner peace, letting
it shake our sleeping consciences, encourage hope, encourage conversion, promote clear gestures of
peace and reconciliation among us.
John the Baptist is the sign of God's incursion into his people. The role of the forerunner is very precise: he prepares the way
of the Lord (Is 40: 3), giving his people the "knowledge of salvation”. It can not be spoken of without speaking of Christ; the
Church never remembers the coming Of Christ without remembering the Precursor. Not only is the Precursor tied to the coming
of Christ, but also to his work, which proclaims: the redemption of the world and its reconstruction until the Parousia. Every
year the Church revisits the testimony of John and his attitude towards his message.
Advent is the time of Mary of Nazareth. Liturgically it is the most Marian time we have throughout the year. The image of a
pregnant Mary personifies the Church that is full of Christ and places it as light in the world. He will be our peace as the
prophet Micah says (5: 2-5).
Finally, let's say something about St. Joseph. His greatness is above all saints and angels. He has touched the God made flesh
with his own hands and has been able to say with all his heart: You are my son and he has behaved like his father. In fact, all
his privileges and all his dignity come from being the husband of Mary, the father of Jesus and, at the same time, of being the
just and good man, in whom the Lord entrusted and placed as the head of His family. How many times would I play with Jesus,
teach him to work, and above all, show him a love that is foolproof! That is why God has raised him above all the saints.
Let these characters help us prepare for this wonderful Advent of 2016.
ADVIENTO ES EL TIEMPO DE GRANDES PERSONALIDADES…
Ya hemos iniciado este tiempo de espera y son cuatro los grandes personajes de esta época. En el Antiguo Testamento, tenemos
al profeta Isaías. En el Nuevo Testamento tenemos a Juan El Bautista, San José y la Virgen María.
El profeta Isaías es el gran maestro de este tiempo. Habría que leerle con una gran paz interior, dejando que sacuda nuestras
conciencias dormidas, aliente a la esperanza, anime a la conversión, promueva gestos claros de paz y de reconciliación entre
nosotros.
Juan Bautista es el signo de la incursión de Dios en su pueblo. El papel del precursor es muy preciso: prepara los caminos del
Señor (Is 40, 3), da a su pueblo el "conocimiento de la salvación”. No se puede hablar de él sin hablar de Cristo, pero la Iglesia
no recuerda nunca la venida de Cristo sin recordar al Precursor. No sólo el Precursor está unido a la venida de Cristo, sino
también a su obra, que anuncia: la redención del mundo y su reconstrucción hasta la Parusía. Cada año la Iglesia nos hace
actual el testimonio de Juan y de su actitud frente a su mensaje.
Luego, Adviento es el tiempo de María de Nazaret. Litúrgicamente es el tiempo más mariano que tenemos a lo largo del año. La
imagen de María en cinta personifica a la Iglesia que está llena de Cristo y lo pone como luz en el mundo. El será nuestra paz
como dice el profeta Miqueas ( 5,2-5).
Por último, digamos algo del señor San José. Su grandeza está por encima de la de todos los santos y ángeles. Él ha tocado con
sus propias manos al Dios hecho carne y le ha podido decir de todo corazón: Tú eres mi hijo y él se ha portado como su padre.
En efecto, todos sus privilegios y toda su dignidad le vienen de ser esposo de María, padre de Jesús y a la vez, de ser el hombre
justo y bueno, en quien el Señor confió y puso al frente de Su familia. ¡Cuántas veces jugaría con Jesús, le enseñaría a trabajar, y sobre todo, le demostraría un amor a toda prueba! Por eso, Dios lo ha encumbrado por encima de todos los santos.
Dejemos que estos personajes nos ayuden a prepararnos de la mejor manera en este maravilloso Adviento del 2016.

We wish to thank each and everyone for your generous donation of food and money towards this
year’s Thanksgiving food baskets. We were able to serve 61 families. This year it was a treat to be
able to give out fresh milk, eggs, baked goods, and fresh vegetables to the families as well. Thank you.
A big shout out goes to Miss Padilla’s CCD youth group for their set up of tables, sorting of food, and the beautifully
decorated boxes to place the food in along with a card of thanksgiving and prayer enclosed in each box given to each family. We had thirty kids show up to help and could
have not completed our work without them. Thank you for blessing our day with your
great help and presence. God Bless you and your family.
Queremos agradecer a todos y cada uno por su generosa donación de comida y dinero
hacia canastas de comida para el día de acción de gracias. Pudimos servir a 61 familias. Este año se pudo dar leche fresca, huevos, postres y vegetales frescos a las familias. Gracias.
Un gran agradecimiento va a la señorita Padilla, directora de clases de catecismo por organizar la decoración de cajas
por los niños y jóvenes y por las cartas y oraciones que depositaron en cada caja que se regalo a las familias. Llegaron
30 jóvenes para ayudar en toda la preparación de la comida. Entre ellos, pusieron las mesas, colocaron los alimentos
en las mesas, y llevaron las cajas y los pavos a los carros de las familias. No podríamos haber terminado nuestro trabajo sin ellos. Dios los bendiga a ustedes y sus familias.
