The permit is issued for the burning of agricultural waste only! No garbage, lumber, plastics, tires, etc. 2. Prior to the starting of the burn: a) Obtain the burn status by telephoning the (800) number on your permit. b) If the burn status is negative ­ Do not burn! 3. If the burn status is affirmative ­ Notify this department by calling 633­2578 or 722­7833 and give the following information: a) Permit # (this information is located on the top right corner of the permit) b) Type of material to be burned. c) The approximate amount of material in tons or acreage. d) Location of burn ­ Be specific. 4. The burning hours are between 8:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. To comply with these hours, use common sense when you begin the fire and when adding to it. DIAL 911 IMMEDIATELY IF THE BURN GETS OUT OF CONTROL. 5. If your permit expires before you conclude burning, you may have the permit renewed at any of the following fire station locations: Station One Station Two Station Three 11200 Speegle St., Castroville 17639 Pesante Cyn. Rd., Salinas 301 Elkhorn Rd., Los Lomas 6. Special Conditions: If you are unable to complete your burn within the prescribed time limits, it shall by your responsibility to inform the fire department immediately. If circumstances dictate that the burn will be prolonged into or through the night, all pertinent guidelines will be adhered to ­ example, fire watch at all times. 7. A responsible person on the burn site shall hold the burn permit at all times. A permit is required for each burn location.

El permiso es para quemar desperdicios de la agricultura solamente! No es para basura, madera, plastico, llantas, etc. 2. Antes de comenzar a quemar: a) Informese sobre las condiciones tocante a la posibilidad de quemar. Llame a este numero de telefono (800) ***­**** el permiso. b) Si las condiciones para quemar son negatives, no se permite quemar! 3. Si las condiciones son afirmativas, notifique a este departamento por medio de el numero 633­2578 o 722­7833 y este preparado para dar esta informacion: a) Numero del permiso b) Tipo de materiales para quemar c) La cantidad aproximada de material­en toneladas o acres. d) Lugar donde se quemara ­ exactamente. 4. Las horas para quemar son dentro de 8:00 A.M. y 3:00 P.M. Para cumplir con estas horas, utilice el sentido comun para comenzar la lumbre y para seguir quemando. LLAME AL 911 INMEDIATAMENTE SI LA LUMBRE SE SALE FUERA DE CONTROL. 5. Condiciones Especiales: Si se le es imposible terminar de quemar durante las horas permitidas, sera su responsabilidad informar al departamento de bomberos inmediatamente. Si las circunstancias exigen que siga quemando hasta la noche, o toda la noche, todas las reglas apropiadas seran observadas­­por ejemplo, vigilar la lumbre a toda hora. 7. El permiso para quemar se mantendra por una persona responsable en el sitio de la lumbre a toda hora.
