FIVE REASONS WHY
Papá Noel is coming to town and he’s got one million extra dollars this year to give away.
It’s all yours if you can give him five good reasons why you deserve it. Your goal today:
To compose a short speech on why Santa should give YOU the million dollars. Write a
short paragraph that includes the five reasons why you should get the million dollars.
Use only complete sentences that begin differently each time.
Example:
¡Papá Noel debería darme a mí el dinero porque yo me porto bien siempre!
Yo creo que el dinero pertenece a mí porque yo manejo bien mis cuentas bancarias.
Si Papá Noel me diera el dinero, yo podría ayudar a la gente que vive en Darfur.
Papá Noel me conoce bien. Somos super amigos. Claro que me lo va a dar.
Con ese dinero, yo podría comprar mucha pizza y darsela a los hambrientes.
Step 1: Write your five phrases. Practice reading them out loud.
Step 2: Open iMovie ’08 (Star Icon). Go to File, Import from Camera... and you should
see your face on the screen via the iSight camera on your computer. Adjust your
windows so that you can see your text and the camera. Click the “Capture” button and
create a new Event name (i.e. Million Dollars). iMovie will start recording immediately.
Click “Done” to stop recording. The clip will process. Close the capture screen.
Step 3: Drag your mouse over the entire clip from left to right. Once there is a yellow
border around the clip, you should be able to click and drag it to the other big window,
the Project Library.
Step 4: Got to Share Menu and select Export Movie.
Select the 480 x 272 resolution or Mobile setting and give
the file a name. Save it to our Projects server with your
name in the title. Watch all of the videos and email your
favorite to the teacher. Whoever gets the most votes will
get a One Million Dollar Bill!
