You will be selecting 6 hypotheses (statement of a relationship between two variables)
from the National Exit Poll for the 2006 Mexican Presidential Election (ICPSR # 24609).
Produce one Cross-Tabs and one Chi-Square Test for each hypothesis and a summary of
results (typically one paragraph for each hypothesis).
You will find the data set at the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social
Research (ICPSR).
o Select “Find and Analyze Data.”
o Log-in (create new account—upper left-corner) using ICPSR MyData.
o In the “Find Data” search box, type “Mexico Elections” and then select this
particular data set (or simply type 24609 in the Find Data search box).
o Select the hyper-link for “All Dataset Files.” Agree to Terms of Use.
o Save the data.sav, Codebook.pdf, and Questionnaire.pdf files in a separate folder.
These will be the files that you will be utilizing. The data.sav file is the actual
SPSS data file. The Codebook and Questionnaire files are self-descriptive.
