This Thursday and Friday our second graders will be
making their First Reconciliations in the Church at 6:00 pm.
So, on Thursday our regular Confessions in the Chapel at 6:00
will be cancelled. However, adults may take advantage of the
Sacrament of Reconciliation but only after all the children have
received the sacrament. On Friday, we will be cancelling the
6:30 pm Spanish Mass.
Next Sunday is the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord,
and that finally closes the Christmas season. So keep alive the
Christmas spirit till then!
Fr. Lauro will be on vacation from January 4 till
January 16.
Please put this date on your calendar: January 16,
Saturday. Our Bishop Farrell will be celebrating a Pro-Life
Mass at 1:00 at the Dallas Convention Center. Please see all
the other activities that day in the announcement printed later
in this bulletin.
On November 8, our parish participated in the
Diocesan Campaign called “Our Faith…Our Future,” in which
all the parishes of the diocese seek to raise $125 million for the
improvement of our diocese.
We continue to thank you for
your generous pledges which have already surpassed our
parish goal of $2 million and you amazingly pledged over $3.7
million. Remember that we get to keep 30% of your donations
up to $2 million; once we surpass our goal, we get to keep 70%
of excess donations. You have received or will receive an
envelope from the Diocese of Dallas although the upper left
side of the envelope will read “Our Faith…Our Future.”
Enclosed will be a statement from the Diocese and a return
envelope in which you will place your donation and send to the
Catholic Foundation which is processing all the Campaign
donations. Thanks again for wonderful generosity.
We have 4 ACTS retreats coming up soon. But be sure
to register soon so that you can reserve a place. Here at St.
Francis of Assisi, over 700 parishioners have made the retreat
over the last 4 years in 22 retreats! We are now one of the
most active parishes in the diocese for ACTS retreats, and we
were the first in our diocese to offer the retreats in Spanish.
Don’t pass up this dynamic and spiritually moving opportunity.

Este jueves y viernes los alumnos de segundo grado
de Formación de Fe tendrán su Primera Reconciliación en la
Iglesia a las 6:00 pm. Así que, el jueves nuestras Confesiones
regulares en la capilla a las 6:00 pm serán canceladas. Sin embargo, los adultos pueden aprovechar el sacramento de Reconciliación pero solo hasta que todos los niños hayan recibido el sacramento. El viernes cancelaremos la Misa de 6:30 pm

ANNUAL TAX STATEMENTS
An ACTS weekend is a three-day, three-night retreat presented by
Catholic laymen with the support of clergy and a spiritual director.
The goals of the weekend retreat is to strengthen your faith, to
renew yourself spiritually, to build purpose in your prayer life and
to build lasting friendships with your church community. Men’s
retreat dates are: February 18-21, 2016. Women’s retreat dates
are: March 10-13, 2016. Registration for women’s retreat begins
on Sunday, January 10; the men’s registration is already open. All

are collecting any and all unwanted athletic shoes. Please help support this recycling and repurposing effort to minimize tons and tons of
reusable shoes in our landfills and to provide affordable, refurbished
shoes to people, both domestically and internationally, who otherwise
are not able to afford new clothing. You can drop off any unwanted
athletic shoes in the bin located in the Foyer of the Great Hall. Collect
them from your friends, family and neighbors or have them drop
them by as well.
