Propósito:
- To become familiar with a country of the Spanish-speaking world, its geography and
calendar.
- To formally present personal information using vocabulary and concepts learned so far.
Cómo:
1. Pick a country (el país) in the Spanish speaking that interests you. “Mi país es _________”
2. Now, imagine you are a youth from this country. Invent or use your own personal
information to describe yourself.
a. ¿Cómo te llamas? y ¿Cuál es tu apellido?
b. ¿Cuántos años tienes? ¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?
c. ¿Cuál es tu color preferido? (Maybe use those of the national flag or other symbol)
3. Using http://maps.google.com and http://espanol.weather.com, find out the following
information, using a variety of vocabulary:
a. ¿De dónde eres?
b. El continente/la región: “Está en ______” (América del norte, El Caribe, América
Central, América del sur, Europa)
c. ¿Dónde vives? (Imagine you live in the capital)
d. ¿Cómo es el clima?: “Hay 4 estaciones” o “Hay dos estaciones: es tropical”
e. ¿Qué tiempo hace hoy? ¿Cuál es la temperatura hoy?: “Hoy ____y ____, y la
temperatura es ________ grados Celsius, o _______ grados Fahrenheit.”
4. Look up a holiday there that you find interesting.
a. ¿Cuál es la fecha? “Mi día festivo favorito es ______. La fecha es el ___ de ___.”
b. Include one simple sentence about the holiday. “Es una celebración de
__________.”

- It must be entirely in Spanish. Points will be deducted for use of English.
- On a 8 ½ x 11 paper, display the information colorfully with only maps, symbols, pictures,
