La propuesta pretende reflexionar sobre la necesidad de
reactivar los espacios residuales que se encuentran en
los terrados de gran parte de la ciudad de Barcelona, a
través de mecanismos de bajo impacto que aprovechen
la oportunidad que ofrecen las geometrías y materiales
existentes (muros medianeros de carga, desniveles, orientaciones, etc), ofreciendo espacios versátiles y flexibles que
no hipotequen los cambios en usos futuros. De este modo, el
pabellón se proyecta como un entramado ligero de madera,
que aprovecha las condiciones existentes en el terrado
para definir un espacio versátil con entrada independiente
de la vivienda que amplía y con los suministros necesarios
para que pueda acoger distintos usos a lo largo del tiempo
(vinculados o no a la vivienda existente); dormitorio,
estudio, taller, sala de juegos, estar o cocina. El espacio
proyectado permite un uso indefinido hasta la reforma
completa de la vivienda original.

This proposal reflects on the need to reactivate residual
spaces found on the roof terraces of a large part of the
city of Barcelona. Available low-impact mechanisms
take advantage of the opportunities offered by existing
geometries and materials (load-bearing party walls, level
changes, orientation, etc), offering versatile and flexible
spaces that don’t jeopardize future uses. With this in mind,
the pavilion was designed with a lightweight wood frame
structure that took advantage of the existing conditions of
the terrace to define a versatile space with an independent
entrance from the apartment to which it pertains. The
pavilion includes all the services necessary for it to house
different uses over time (related or unrelated to the existing
apartment); bedroom, studio, workshop, playroom, living
room or kitchen. The space is designed to permit its use
indefinitely, until the renovation of the original apartment is
completed.
