Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Christmas is almost here. Are you prepared? If you have
been praying more, fas ng more and giving more alms (for example,
our DSF) then it is most certain you will encounter Christ. He will not
be under the Christmas tree, but in the rela onships with your family
and your church members.
Let us remember, Christmas is not your birthday, but Christ’s
birthday. Therefore, please come to Jesus’ birthday party, we have
(masses) where we will celebrate his birthday. I am asking all of you to
make Jesus his Happy Birthday card. This will be a wonderful family
ac vity, both spiritual and fun!
At the Christmas masses, I will invite you to come up during
the offering of the gi s to give Jesus your birthday card.
You are also invited to our New Year’s Eve celebra on. This
has become a wonderful tradi on at Queen of Peace. The idea behind
this is to provide a safe and enjoyable me for your family to come
and celebrate New Years. No one gets drunk, there are no family fights
and no one is shoo ng guns in the air. Instead, we have great music,
each family can bring their own food and beverages, decora ng their
own table and best of all, we get to welcome Jesus in a brief moment
of Adora on of the Blessed Sacrament. How cool is that! If you wish to
purchase a cket, we are asking you to give ($$$$) The cost is so low
because the idea is to provide a place for you. On behalf of Fr. Lawrence, Fr. Jorge, Fr. Ed Wade, Fr. John Paul, Alex and myself, I wish you
a Merry Christmas.

Tree Pro has completed Phase I of our tree trimming that
will help with limiting leaves and branches from accumulating on our roofs and in our gutters. Phase II will begin
soon on the rest of our property. Tree Pro specializes in
all tree services in Houston
and surrounding areas.

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo,
La Navidad ya casi está aquí. ¿Estás preparado? Si ha estado
orando más, en ayuno más y dando limosna (por ejemplo, a nuestro fondo diocesano) entonces es más seguro que pueda tener
un encuentro con Cristo. No estará abajo del árbol de Navidad,
pero en nuestras relaciones con su familia y los miembros de su
Iglesia.
Recordemos que la Navidad no es tu cumpleaños, sino el cumpleaños de Cristo. Por favor acompáñenos a la fiesta de cumpleaños de Jesús. Tenemos la Misa de Gallo el 25 de diciembre y

En las Misas de Navidad, invitaré a las familias que entreguen
su tarjeta de cumpleaños a Jesús durante la ofrenda de los dones.
También están invitados a la celebración del fin de año. Esto
se ha convertido en una tradición en Reina de la Paz. La idea es
proporcionar un tiempo seguro y divertido para que su familia

fuego en el aire. En cambio, tenemos buena música, cada familia

Rite of Candidacy for Luis Turcios
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston formally announces that Luis Turcios will be admitted to candidacy for the permanent diaconate on February 20, 2016 at a Mass to be celebrated by Bishop George Sheltz. If any
person knows of a serious reason why this Aspirant should not be admitted
to Candidacy or continue to ordination to the permanent diaconate, please
